Interest you used my photo of my wheelbase and quick release. Once installed on my rig, I am using a different configuration. I have 2 50mm extensions stacked on the wheelbase and the QR between the stack and wheel. I like the 2 50mm extensions more than 1 100mm extension since it helps manage the USB cable when my GSI wheel is installed.
I hang around the GSI discord from time to time, and your set up is the perfect color 😉 interesting point on the hubs. I can see how that could help with the cable for sure!
I've been thinking about adding an extension simply so I can put more instrument clusters directly behind the steering wheel. However, just like you said, the added length could be detrimental to the wheelbase if enough lateral force is applied. I'm mostly concerned about guests putting all their weight on it when entering/exiting the rig. Even if I go over the "rules" beforehand, it still happens occasionally.
Awesome video Aero, so here's a question for you. How do you know you might need a extension added between the wheel base and wheel? Is there a set distance the wheel should be from your chest? Why I am asking is I just got a new SimuCube 2 Pro wheelbase and converted my Fanatec McLaren V2 wheel to USB and it has a small extension but wondering if I might need more added.
An extension is a want, not a need. You might want an extension for reasons like better screen placement or more room to easily ingress/egress out of your rig. Aesthetics reasons, it’s something you’ll probably find a use for as you get more of an understanding of what you want out of your rig for ergonomics and fitment.
Can anyone tell me if I bought a simucub 2 sport if I the quick release sold by cube controls or the one sold by simucube in order to connect them? I'm having trouble getting any answers.

I'm so confused though. I bought the UH 105 thinking I could put it on the back of my oval wheel so I could get my oval wheel closer but leave my GT wheel where it is. But then there's no way to put the extension on the back of my oval wheel? I'm so confused rn FML
