We raced at Mosport for ⁠⁠‪@ApexV2R‬ for TWO 8-hour races in the same weekend at the Lucky Dog Racing Canada.

Really good video as always, editing is impeccable, and the image looks just really sharp makes you feel like seeing all the details Thank you for showing a part of motorsports that not everyone can see And about the commenting over the subtitles I do prefer the commenting gives us that personal description of what you are talking about and makes the video more comfortable to watch

Props on being open and honest about your mistakes. I went the opposite direction that you did: from these real-life amateur leagues into sim racing, as opposed to the other way around. And you've given so many helpful tips about how to sim race. Going the other direction, what you experienced is part of what makes real racing totally different from the sim: random malfunctions in the car; using smells to identify problems; dealing with other cars obstructing the view of flagging stations; etc. All of those things are a huge part of real racing, that are totally absent from the sim.

Thank you for showing us your guy's mistakes. This shows that we are the ones with the responsibility of keeping an eye out for the flag station, because there can and will be times that the station will be obstructed by other cars

Vision is a very complicated thing, I'm an engineer and I have to build everything thinking that a person will fail to perform the task, in this case I also didn't see the yellow flag because for me it's poorly positioned, it should be at a point of concentration for every driver, to be seen as for example apex and the flags must not be static they must be constantly moved to attract attention, on such a dangerous track and never think about these simple things. I would make the same mistake, thanks for sharing yours.

Nobody has mentioned what the potential liquid could be at 16:40, potentially fuel breather pipe has some fuel coming out. Since this is the beginning of the race it is likely that they have a full tank of fuel 👍

hi stuart , I was actually driving that wagon at 16:40 and it was indeed our fuel vent on the back right of the car , this being said we definently will be looking at a better vent solution to go forward with

So, I don't see a flag in the stand at T9, nor the S/F line or T1. T10 Was the only stand we could see on the video with flags out. That said, when you see the tow truck on pit lane exit with lights on. It should have been a clear idea to slow down. You could also see the Ambulance far ahead before you really stsrted slowing down.

Do you keep record of the speed you be in numbers or you just feel the speed you should be on? Videos keep getting better, audio comments are nice but text gives good visual clues, and rides with no comments raw audio would be great too but idk if gets too big?

I don't like saying this because marshalls and race directors are fantastic and as competitors, we rely on them to go motor racing. But the lack of professionalism from the race director at 18:04 to be yelling at the drivers down a bullhorn is mind-blowing to me. This would be considered a major indiscretion at any European race. Also, agree with other comments that if it's a major incident where support vehicles are coming on track then waved yellows are mandatory (again basing this on UK MSA bluebook rules). From my standpoint was as much race control's fault as yours.

Eh... you had to be there, I think. It was not inappropriate IMO (and I don't just mean the incident Suellio described!) People were getting a bit hot, and Mosport demands respect - incidents have very serious consequences. A reset was appropriate and required, I feel. PS I believe T1 is waving white/yellow flag to indicate slow vehicle as well which means get ready to stop, T10 was double yellow (ie full course yellow). I can't see T9 flag in the vid. It's also worth noting this is grassroots amateur racing, not F1.

I think Mike said it best the flags were out early enough and the full course yellow came when our man here got to turn 10 the race admin while being understanding to your point was frustrates with the poor driving standards threw the weekend and gave ultimatums to the grid which was not listened to causing the yelling

@Pullverized it is fully staffed but please tell me how the Marshall's at a race I was at are at fault when clear flags are shown in turn 10 with double yellow (full course caution) and waving yellow and white (incident on line /emergency vehicles on track on line ) in turn 1? Caution came out when he entered turn ten not turn 9

@@snowiceanddirt I've rewatched this alot and there was in no way enough warning to the drivers about the conditions on track. If the marshalls wanna yell at the drivers they should at least do their job properly and with professionalism.

Drivers that do not see or pay attention to the flags, especially the yellow warning/danger ones, should not be on the track. If you do not see double yellow static or waving there is a very large problem that not only endangers you but other competitors as well. You also think you are a better driver than you actually are. your braking is inconsistent and your anticipation of an upcoming track situation needs much more attention. This is probably due to "SIM" racing where cars can get closer without danger and there is no possible way to do this in the simulated world, only actual track experience will help. You need to spend more time in high speed racing go carts where anticipation and braking are everything.

Guaranteed he passed at least 4 or 5 flag stations waving yellow flags. Probably why he didn't show himself going up the back straight. There was lots of people driving like that all weekend, not paying attention to the flags. That's why chuck was so mad.

Sims and real cars are different. There are consequences for every action and in real cars can kill you or others. You are being to aggressive as a rookie because you haven't learned the difference between a sim and real life driving.
