Simcha leiner (pronounced sim-cha lie-ner) has one of the best voices out there. 1) he kissed the 'mezuza' on the door post. A mezuza is a small box with passages inside, that are supposed to be a protection for one's home. They're put on the right side of every doorway/archway in a Jewish house. the elevator was a public doorway therefore it didn't have one. 2) there is an organization that delivers boxes of food for shabbos to needy families. It's done in a way so that they don't get embarrassed, hence simcha running away after knocking Also the man who dropped his wallet didn't hit a Shockwave lol he slipped on the wet floor
I'm not the biggest Simcha Leiner fan, but this video always gets me. It's called Kol Berama which describes our Matriarch Rachel crying over her children's suffering in exile. The video is very heavy and emotional (along the lines of Memories) as it contains footage of the funeral of members of the Fogel family who were killed in an especially brutal terror attack. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ri4-YtnNdII.html
Wow the story now sounds very fermiler to me, but the song yes is amazing he should react to it. It's unfortunate and sad like many other tradiges Am Yisrael suffered. Reminds me also of the Applebaum's Hy"d. Ad Massai Moshiach Now!!!!
Haha you're hilarious 😂!! Funny you noticed this the guy giving flowrs to the lady in crutches!! I've not laughed out aloud on my own in a very long time!! Your hilarious!! Kol hakovod means 🙏 respect!! So if you help someone, then hats off to you for helping/ respect!
I know Simcha, I went to camp with him years back (before he was a household name) and he actually sang at both of my brothers’ weddings. I was also in his music video, called “Simcha.” (If you happen to watch it, I’m the dude who was shrunk down to be bite-sized.) 😎 He’s not only an outstanding singer, he’s also a really nice guy. First off, your analysis of the video was spot on. It was beautifully produced, but the story definitely had some hilarious holes. And I can see why you thought the guy who tripped was hit by a force field or something lol. It was sloppy. All that being said, I highly recommend you check out his live stuff. He’s even better live, in my opinion, and there are other songs that do a much better job showcasing his capabilities. I believe he was trained as a cantor (Simcha, if you’re reading this, correct me if I’m wrong), but most of his music is more modern.
Simcha trained at the Bell School Of Jewish Music at Yeshiva University! Maybe one day Portuguese Pai will react to you Yonah, as you're very talented as well, and known for being in the group A.K.A. Pella, as well as doing choir work for Doni Gross and the like!
@@ZevMeth_originaljewishmusic thank you, Zev, for the information and kind words! Technically, he sort of already reviewed me, as I sang in and acted in Joey Newcomb’s “Borei Pri Ha’eitz” 😊 But I wouldn’t complain if he stumbled across some of the projects I’ve been more prominently involved with 😉
If you're looking to hear Simcha Leiner live, then this video is the his best yet, and was performed live in Odessa, Ukraine, with a full blown-out prchestra! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uhA5gGa-wBQ.html
Simcha is a good friend of Shapiro, they made music together when Shap started his way as "Mordechai Shapiro the singer" and "Kol HaKavod" is a compliment, there is no "English parallel" to that but it's said for a good deed, so sometimes Jews who don't speak Hebrew "Mainly", would use Kol HaKavod for what they mean to say. (I myself got Kol HaKavod from Dovid Pearlman once... ☺ ) 2:50 that's an interesting question... we put "that thing" (Mezuza in Hebrew) on every door where people live, for more than a month. every room except the immodest places... since elevators are not a place you "live" in, we don't put Mezuza on the elevator's door (though I heard there is a city where they do...) 🤔 5:12 I don't know how it goes in the USA but here we have a "rule" that kids under some specific age mustn't take the elevator alone (so they won't get lost) 7:40 "Oof, 🙄" 7:53 the guy behind them washed the floor... 12:05 listen to his song Ribono, omg...
i genuinely enjoy your reviews and how much respect you give to the customs that you have not been familiar with. I still strongly recommend that you review Yoni Z. i don't know if he has any live videos available on RU-vid but his songs Odeh and Crown are both great ones for you to review.
For permanent doorposts of a place people are living for more than two months (permanently). The song is about having gratitude and allowing the gratitude to guide you to being kind to others. It's an apartment complex. The kid probably was scared or not allowed to ride the elevator alone. Kol hakavod means, "good job"- essentially a phrase to imply gratitude
There are a number of of organizations called "tomchei Shabbos" across the US in cities with Jewish communities that deliver weekly food boxes to people who are in need. They don't want the recipient to see who actually dropped it off.
That's a really cool service! People shouldn't be ashamed/embarrassed (or whatever word you want to use), if they need a little help. That being said I can understand it also being a hard time, and adding that anonymity would help with some stress.
His name is pronounced Sim-kha (which for reference means "happiness" in Hebrew) Lye-ner. Most of his music isn't chazzanut or of the cantorial style. However, prayer is so frequent in Judaism, and the synagogues have relatively few congregants on average. Most Orthodox Jewish men with singing talent will lead the prayers and perform chazzanut fairly often. This is usually pretty informal and not recorded however.
Leiner would fall into Jewish pop genre, not really classical Jewish cantorial or Hasidic music. Although he probably knows all the classic songs as well
Hey. I have an excellent list of singers for you - 1.Shuli Rand & amir dadon - "bein kodesh lechol". 2. narkis - (she is a religious woman singer )- "Galbi or "moshe". 3.Hanan ben Ari - "Shemesh". 4.ishay ribo- "sibat a sibot",or "halev sheli" 5. Yonatan Razel - "vehi sheamda" ... 6.David daor- "avinu malkenu". 7.Natan goshen & ishay ribo- "nechake lecha "
This song came out not long after Ishay Ribo started becoming popular in the US and his influence is super strong in it...from the Israeli slightly Middle Eastern sound to the original non-liturgical Hebrew lyrics
yes is make on HOLLYWOOD FLORIDA , when start show to He have a good soul and teach a blind boy for your ceremony , the rest of the video is for show good actions in the life i stay there he make a great job in the entire hotel , the scrip of the song on hebrew talk about the good actions in the life
Great choice of singer! I think you got distracted by the video and didn't give him as much credit for his voice and vocal ability as he deserves. He has a beautiful voice and has incredible range and control.
He isn't kissing the doorway. The mezuzah is there you just didn't notice it. In a Jewish home you must have a mezuzah on every door not including washrooms. But it's specifically doors, so on gates you usually won't find one, although if it's a prominent entrance you probably will still find one. A elevator isn't a door leading between rooms so to speak so you wouldn't have one there besides for it being impossible to hang up.
Technically a mezuzah should be on every doorway of a jewish home (including an elevator). it’s not a commandment in the Bible to kiss it, only a tradition, so he probably didn’t realize it on the elevator.
Simcha's music is usually more modern sounding jewish music (like this) not cantorial, however he is a great cantor as well when hired to perform that style on sabbath or other occasions.
People recommended Simcha Leiner because you like cantors and big voices? What an unbelievably odd thing to do. He has literally the opposite type of voice...
