See several requests to compare to the Performer5. Wanted to chime in here as I own both the Performer5 and Performer8, as well as the EM6L. Short answer, just buy the EM6L if you don’t own either. To expand on that point, if you’re looking at the $300-350 bracket, the P5 makes more sense because it competes with far more expensive sets at its price point. The same goes for the P8, which has clarity and detail that competes with sets that are far more expensive than it’s MSRP. As an example, I prefer the P8 to something like the Dunu SA6 MK2. However, if your budget is up to but not more than the $200 mark, the EM6L is the best bang for your buck right now. It’s also one of the clearest upgrades from something like the Zero Red. The P5 is a different set than the EM6L, so you’re not really comparing tuning here, but more comparing the value for money as both are punching well above their weight class. TLDR: I would suggest owning both as they both bring something different to the table, but if you are just getting into this hobby and have heard the hype around the P5 and that’s why you’re looking for a comparison, the EM6L could be the right IEM for you until you get up to much larger price points and start to understand your own preferences a little more (do you prefer neutrality, elevated bass, boosted treble, midrange performance, etc). If you’re asking because you already own the P5 and want to know if you should consider downgrading. No; while the EM6L is the IEM to beat below $200, there’s no reason to give up some of the benefits of the P5. You’d be making trade offs, and will likely regret losing some of the things the P5 brought to the table.
Thank you for your interaction and very insightful comparison between these 3 great iems. Totally agree with your opinion of they are all shooting way above their price point.
I was considering this since I liked both the EA500 and the P5, but there seems to be no reason to get the EM6L. Maybe I'll try the EA1000. Thank you for your comments!
Thanks for the song recommendation, I just downloaded that George Duke album, I only knew the Uncle Remus song with Zappa, before.. From Dusk to Dawn, what a great test track, besides being extreme chill.. My Trn Conch handled it very well. Pr2, not so much.. Volume loss in the lower bass was significant.
Another great video! I wish you would do a video on how you choose to pair a certain IEM with a cable and for what reason. Also show how you check your cables. Thanks, again for your hard work.
Hello, that buttery feeling of the EM6L, couldnt it be just imperfect timing within BAs? They tend to have smoother edges (less texture because of this) just clarifying for myself to be sure ... nice review 😉
Great review as always , absolutely would love to hear the comparison to the Celest , battle of the phoenixes . By the way is the EM6L as technically capable as the S12 ? I heard a lot of similarities from the review . How do you compare them briefly in tuning and detail retrieval / technicalities ? Thank you .
EM6L just arrived... OMG 😲! Simgot must have followed Robert Johnson to the crossroads... there is some Dr. Strange & Dr Fate level sorcery going on here😂! Another tremendous set with an affordable price tag! 👏👏👏 Akros!
What I don’t get is how some reviewers are saying it’s a bit thin and bright (super reviews) he still gave it a 4/5 though. To me it’s warm and lush with a smooth extended treble. Nothing thin about it, maybe a bit forward pinna to some. Nothing a tuning filter can’t solve.
@@Hijynx87 Exactly, that's how I hear it😊! But then we all hear things differently too😕 & reviewers have heard so many sets by now their listening standards are extremely strict. Glad I don't have that problem😎!
How does the em6l compare against the PenonFan2 objectively speaking? I have a chance to get a new Fan2 at 50% off. Still significantly more expensive than the em6l though...is it worth it?
Great video as always! Thank you for sharing. Small request here, could you do a comparison between something a bit older, like Moondrop Kato, as a revisit? As an owner of those "default recommendation of community for long time" IEMs, I'm curious if mine still competes with some newer "budget monster" sets... 🙏
the aful p5 would break my bank right now, having a real hard time choosing a 1dd+4ba between the simgot em6l and the juzear 41t, any help comparing these would be greatly appreciated. ty.
I highly doubt it. The P5 is light years ahead of the EA500. Not even close. That said my P5 were relegated as I got the Mangird Tea 2 for less than 200 on Ali and those are much better than the P5.
Same here. I'm not sure if the PhoenixCall is worth the extra $26. I can get the EM6L for $104. Anyone who has heard both feel free to express your opinion.
Please help me Akros. I'm going back and forth with the simgot em6l and the celest Phoenix call. I've watched both of your videos on both and I just can't make up my mind. I love musicality, bass, and details. Big stage would be great but bass for me is my number 1 followed by amazing musicality but with details.
I'm currently thinking about my next upgrade coming from the Olina SE and it's hard to set on a next IEM to save up for. So far I'm looking into the EM6L, Aful Performer 8 and the Xenns Top... What would you suggest? Thank you so much for your reviews and the effort you put into them.
@@akros9333 Thank you for your reply. I think the Performer 8 has the most bang for buck. I'm no basshead by any means but I like good textured bass. I listened to Dan's sound demo of the P5 to grasp a vague idea how the AFUL might sound. How hard are they to drive? I intend to use them also for gaming by plugging them into my controller if I don't want to use my overears.
How would you compare the technicalities to the Falcon Ultra? It graphs really similar and I would like to know how a quality DD can compete with hybrids
You're right, the cable is trash when taking into account the quality of the iems. Which cable do you suggest to use with this iem? I see you mention an xinhs cable but you don't mention the model/ build. If you could suggest a good not expensive one, that'd be great! I bought the one you suggested in the truthear red video and it was great (a sort of pinkish nicehck cable)
Great review Tony. I love the design and tuning of the EM6L. Very classy IEM, I'll probably end up getting one. Also, since I have this on the way, how do you think this compares to the TRN TA4?
@@ufopulseif you mean the og Starfield that's relaxed , smooth while EM6L is detailed and energetic but done with class. The Starfield 2 is way to energetic, too intense.
If I look at value for money , the EM6.....as for sound they complement eachother In my opinion. EM6 crispier detailed presentation....Falcon more old school organic
You said you replace cable. I'm confuse with various listing specifically which one you use. Could you respond with a specific link to the cable you replace. Thanks
@@Rsalmond83 No, they’re not just laying around. There is a cost associated that should be figured into the overall price. If you have to make additional purchases or use non-stock accessories, they should be added to the cost of the product. If you have to use a $40 replacement cable, that makes this a $150 iem and maybe then it’s not such a bargain. That’s my point…..
Thank you Sir for the review! Can you recommend for me some good iem about 15-30$ range listen to hans zimmer soundtrack, movies soundtrack, watching movies?
I am between the SIMGOT EM6L and the SIMGOT EW200, I know they are in very different price points but which one do you think is more worth it? It will be used for gaming cs2/fortnite and for music listening, I do usually enjoy base. I currently have the crin Zero(blue) and they are alright but I want to try more iems and maybe improve my experience.
@@unclethathurts wtf u talking about its more mono and drab then sibilant i think it sounds perfect tho honestly... can you tell me what tracks were playing in the background during the review?
In my opinion the EM6L has a little more detail in upper mids and treble. Yume 2 has a slightly stronger Midbass, both have about equal extension. I would say they are about equal overall, with an obvious price advantage for the EM
I'm also curious about this comparison. Just fiddled with MS3 for 2 weeks and the I found it has extremely good dynamics with a grandness to the sound, almost like full sized headphones. I planned to use them for workouts as having so much euphoric energy. However I ended up sending them back due to the 4.5khz peak and the BA flavor. EM6L seems more polished in this regard but I wonder it is capable for similar energetic, full sound signature?
