The only mod I made was replaced the brake reload spring with an elastomer. More brake pedal travel is what I wanted and the tlcms just couldn't deliver.

They look very similar to the VNM lite pedals - a set that cost me $450.. Can’t beat the price of the simjack gear.

Hello nice and informative video ! Do you think it is worth to sell my Fanatec CSL LC pedals and buy one of these?
@melv45
@melv45 6 месяцев назад
In my opinion yes. That’s exactly what I had before. And it’s easy to adapt these pedals to exactly how you want them.

This is Iracing. 99% of what I do is that. I did do a test using the pedals in other sims and there is a video of that also.

Everyone sets these up with dview where I've only ever set them up in devices in the control panel and never had a problem. Had these for about 3 years. Go the heusinkveld elastomers and find the cloned spring and never look back.

Im having the same issue with my fanatec lc pedals, the lack of pedal travel makes it extremely hard to get the braking correct
@GuppyMilk334
@GuppyMilk334 10 месяцев назад
I had these pedals for 1.5 years. Its nice set of beginner pedals for good price. Elastomers were only problem and that was the reason I changed pedals. I broke couple sets of elastomers and it felt like after a some time brake didnt feel the same anymore. It felt like it was easier and easier to compress the pedal and it made it hard to be consistent.

Ordered a set with the rams, have a fanatec ready to race setupd still coming and am new to sim racing but always hated how little throw the brakes had of any of the low end stuff ive tried. These seem to be the only realistic option for someone like me. Will be nice to compare lap times going completely green between these and the fanatec back to back. Luckily im a former 1/8th offroad rc racer so i have a massive selection of race quality springs and rates, shocks,pistons and oils to customize with im almost as excited to tinker with them as i am to actually use them

@wormytreg

@@Jabbawock1972 They're commonly used on the throttle and clutch, which is what I assume he means, you are right they are far too light for the brake.

@wormytreg I ended up using a valve spring for a boss 302 coyote v8 i had spares of for the brake to replace the rubbers (265n closed 650n open so about 150lbs at full rate). I had to make seats for the spring as well as run a spacer 8mm thick, but could this be replaced by the bottom bushing on some skateboard trucks to tune feel.

As someone who is looking to get into simracing, these seem like a good offer at the price point. Would you recommend I go with this route or just stick with something like fanatec bundle pedals?
@melv45
@melv45 Год назад
It depends in some ways if you think you will stick with the hobby or not. If I had my time again I would go straight for these and basically save money. But remember you will need a sturdy rig to house them so depends on your future plans and circumstances. I use a wooden rig that I built myself and this is fine. Basically they are very good pedals at entry level pricing and definitely better than the CSL load cell and pedals even well above these. Even if you decide in the future that you don’t want to sim race anymore, they will always hold value. For the slightly extra cost it would be better (long term) to get these now. I have had 3 sets of pedals to date and if I could have got these straight away it would have saved me quite a bit!

@@melv45 Thanks for the info! On another note, there seems to be some misunderstanding among the FB group regarding SimJack's 'Hydraulic dampers'. I asked someone who's familiar with these systems, and he pointed out that SJP uses Gas Springs as opposed to actual hydraulic dampers ; The former provides force that wants to resist and return back to its original position, whereas the latter, which HE uses, resist velocity with no return force, meaning you can fully depress the damper and it would remain still. So, the only advantage a gas spring provides is to stiffen your pedals.

I got the ACTUAL Heusinklveld Ultimate clones. They're not SimJack. I got them in black (so dumb that Heusinkveld doesn't offer then in black). They're basically identical to the Heusinkveld Ultimate non-plus. The throttle is so insanely smooth. 200 Kg load cell, 130 Kg max limit. Authentic German Fibrolast bushings / rubbers. Authentic Mavin loadcells. Dampers on all 3 pedals, etc. They are TRULY the Heusinkveld Ultimate clones. Using FreeJoy, you get all the control - and more - that Heusinkveld (and other companies) offers with their He SmartControl software. I don;'t know why every one only talks about the SimJacks and not these other ones. The non-SimJacks are proper He Ulti clones.
