Originating in Kingston's shanty towns in the late 1950s, Jamaica's rudeboys were young rebels in sharp mohair suits, thin ties and pork pie hats. The style is now back in fashion, as curators of a new exhibition hope to show.

after that clown said it wasnt about the music or the clothes. i turned it off. he is completely off base. Its not back.. These people are just playing dress up like halloween, and do not have any ties to the music because they did not grow up with it at the same time affecting their lives and mirroring the social climate. they are just picking up a fad, a trend, and exploiting it.

Is it just me or has the world gone soft. These catalogue models ain't rude boy. Black and white rude boys / mods came from rough streets violence and fighting the law. While looking sharp.

I remember the black Rudeboys in the early eighties and yes they wore suits sometimes, but most of the time they looked very street, Harrington jackets, Fred Perry, hitched up Sta Prest and loads of badges on the jacket. They looked a lot like the Skinheads minus the boots.

Hi! Channel 4. I like this Documentary of this style music. I am original Mod in 80s - 1995 in Ontario Canada, I grown up listen to SKA. I dress up Mod when I came a teenager.

It's important to note this is the evolution of the rude boy ! That he keeps some of the same elements but moves it forwards to now!!! so a rude boy could have long hair of short !!!
