Thes Simms Flyweight Wading Boot is a major step forward in comfort for wading boots. I use these for 90% of my fishing now and prefer to wear them except when I am out in very remote conditions where I like to have the extra ankle protection of the Simms Guide G3 Boots.

Question??? I have Korkers wading boots that have held up very well. I’ve had several occasions where my boot slipped and my foot hit up against some rocks under the water. I knew if I didn’t have my wading boots on, I would of cried like a baby cuz I smashed my foot on the rocks. Do these Simms boots have a hard outer shell or is it just mesh around the side of the boots? Wondering if my foot slips, will I be crying and rolling around in the water cuz I’ve smashed my foot on rocks.

Hi there. I will pull the Flyweights out of the cupboard and check for you later today. Gut feeling says you are better off with the G3 Guide boots if this is a major concern for you. They also offer more ankle support and the shell is rather rigid (still v comfortable though).Some more info here:tacklevillage.com/simms-g3-wading-boots-reviewed/

I checked the boots. The Flyweights have a solid rubber toe piece that protects against stubbing your toes. They also have rubber protection on instep and outside of your foot plus the shell is pretty rigid. That said, the Guides have this and more.
