Spencer Helwig Great review! I agree the Simms G4 Boa boot does not cinch down around your toes and allows for too much play. My primary reason for searching out this review is that I already purchased the Simms G4 Boa boot and was having issues of getting my foot snug. Wanted to see if anyone else had a similar experience and apparently this review does. Also own the G3 with traditional laces. Far superior performance. I am very disappointed with the Simms G4 Boa boot. Thought it would be great to quickly turn a few clicks and tighten the boots after getting them wet in the river.

I own the G4 BOA boot and after three uses I looking to sell them. Here are my pros and cons. Pros:- Grip Grip Grip. Best I have ever stepped on. - Easy on/Off Cons: - I have very large calves and the high top causes sore spots on my legs. This is the deal breaker for me. -The tops being as high as they are, they don't allow me to pull my gravel guards down on my waders without rolling them up, then pulling them down. -The single lace doesn't tighten equally from top to bottom. Therefore, it tightens at the top first and to get the arch tighter, it get uncomfortable around my leg. My opinion for what it is worth, John Breesawitz

The boa system doesn't do well in sandy environments. After my first use, my left side was very hard to open and adjust already.

Both garbage! The new guide boots crack around that cheap plastic toe piece. Those g4's with the single wire don't tighten evenly. Typical of simms lately, overpriced Chinese made crap! People need to quit praising this garbage and tell it like it is.
