This is amazing!! I love it so much! I found your channel late this afternoon, while looking up how to use a slate... Now I literally have a notebook in front of me and am going through all of your videos and taking notes! Thank you for all of the videos on this channel and your other one, your definitely an inspiration. I'd say I'm at an beginner/intermediate level and I am hoping to learn alot from your channels!

Ive seen many films reels, they were long, and boring, this is the best film reel I've seen. Simply because it was short, concise, and you kept only the good stuff. And great job getting maximum potential out of those t3i's. I upgraded several months ago to the C100 Mark ii. Great camera!

Hey Simon. I think I have to tell you, that your work is just perfect. I just spent all evening watching your DSLRguide channel and cadevisuals. I have to say that you have a real talent. Your shooting and editing skills, just with a basic gear are really perfect. I have to also tell you that your beliefs about gear are really right. Because it's really not about the gear. It's about the story. But for you, as person who IS a real filmmaker, is ok to buy a better camera. You wanted to show people that it's not about the gear. That they can also reach a perfect results with 600D and users friendly software. This goal you accomplished, think you're now free to buy something you'll enjoy shooting with. But it's your decision and story for another time. I just wanted to tell you that I really appreciate your work and you, as a very clever, creative, handle person. As weird as this sounds, I think your specialty or at least what you're best at is editing.

Why not lose the crop marks or shoot in actual anamorphic? There's more to that look than black bars. Anamorphic glass provides different visual characteristics, most notably the flares, but even more important is that it gives you a real widescreen image. Cropping your image means losing resolution. The trained eye can tell that those parts of the image are missing.

The black bars really trigger me.

I don't know why you have so many likes. The clips are all average and have nothing to do with cinematography.
