I just was able to play this on my echo dot. I am 87 and a caregiver for my husband of 66 years. This song has given me some joy. I dance Thank you Simon and Garfunkel. You have made my many days.. and I play many of your songs.

I’m 32, my grandmother used to play this in her truck every day when she picked me and my sister up from school when we were 5 and 6 years old. We sang it so much my grandmother took us to a recording studio and had us sing over this song and a couple others and she had it recorded onto cassette tapes and eventually put onto a cd. She had the cd played during her funeral and now every time I think of this song I miss my grandma.

God bless Anne Corey! She was my 8th grade teacher at St. Gregory's School in San Mateo, CA, in 1970. She brought this record in and played it for our class. When this song came on, I jumped up and began to dance 💃 💃💃💃💃. Thank you, Ms. Corey ❣️❣️❣️ My FAVORITE teacher of all time. God bless you, Anne ❣️❣️❣️ You taught me how to think for myself. No drums in the backtrack. Actually, Paul came up with the backtrack first and wrote the song afterwards it was so good. Paul found a glitch in a Nabra that pops on recording slapping sounds. So Paul, Art and a few others recording themselves beating the hell out of guitar cases and came up with this.

Last night I had to take my dad to the ER at 12:30 a.m. After getting checked in, at about 2 a.m. his nurse Emily started singing this song outside of our room, quite well I might add. I was surprised that a young lady who appeared to be in her twenties knew this song by heart. Dad and I both just listened and laughed and forgot why we were there for just a little bit. Thank you Emily and all the nurses who try to put a smile on your face despite what you or even themselves may be going through.

I loved Simon and Garfunkel when I heard them in my 20s. I am now close to 70 and have come to appreciate just how great they were and still are. The most beautiful song I've ever heard is Bridge over Troubled Water but almost everything they recorded was a masterpiece.

This was my mom's favorite song! We were at a local club that had a band and a small dance floor. Mom asked the band to play Celia by Simon and Garfunkel! They play a Cecelia but it wasn't this one. It went on and on and on! We kept on dancing because we didn't want to be rude! It was so funny! One of the stories told over and over! I saw you at the Akron Rubberbowl back in early 80's❤ you were wonderful!! Thank you for the songs that we cant help but sing with and wonderful memories❣️❣️❣️❣️🌹🌹

Paul Simon is a genius when it comes to writing music. In a song like this he even fits the right dialect into the words. "I fall on the floor and I laughing". Can't think what country it is, but it's great !

I was a kid when this was released in 1970, and loved the catchy rhythm! Took abt four years for me to understand the true meaning of some of the lyrics....Difficult to believe this song is 51 yrs old, now! Still marvelous!

Mr. Simon and Mr. Garfunkel. My late dad introduced me to music. You were the first "rock" music. I was 5 years old. I would be in the basement on my "Sit and Spin" toy, got dizzy and fell off. Usually to this song. And did it again. Love you both :)

I remember my dad listening to that song (on the 45 rpm record) when I was a child, very loud!!! I didn't understand the lyrics (I'm french) but this sound and those voices were so unique that it remains engraved in my memory. Great moments.

Divine! Perfection, especially the harmonies! I grew up hearing this and many other amazing folk and classic rock artists....never found any songs or artists after this era capable of reaching the perfection of songs like this! I introduced my best friend to this music in our early elementary school years, age 7-10, and she loved it and got so into it and inspired by it that she chose music, singing specifically, as her profession. She's now an opera singer who has performed at the NY Met, London, Paris and all over the world! This music inspiration and I hope will always be appreciated

Grew up as a young kid listening to these guys. My parents thought they were great. I didn't necessarily appreciate these guys when I was 7 because it was my parents music but that all changed in time. So glad I was exposed to them early on as I later came to appreciate just how timeless they are. This song in particular (in spite the story the lyrics tell) makes you come alive. Dad would grab me and we'd dance all around the living room. Good times.

It’s funny you mentioned the subject matter of the lyrics. When I was a child in the 70’s we would sing about making bread out in my kitchen. I stepped out to wash my hands, when I came back to bake someone’s taking my pans.
