This song gives me chills every time I hear it. Great cover, been meaning to learn the bass line for years and your videos make that so easy I almost feel guilty :-)
This one was originally overdubbed onto the already released acoustic version by Producer Tom Wilson, following a recording session for Dylan's 'Like a Rolling Stone'. The bass track was played by Philly and NYC session bassist Joe Mack. Mack would play on much NYC session musician output, including tunes for the The Left Banke. When S&G began recording on the West Coast, Joe Osborn would play bass, and Hal Blaine the drum's....most notably on the 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' album.
What's wrong with asking for tabs? New players want some guidance. It's not like anyone just picks up the bass and can play it by listening to songs. If you know how to play and have learned you should remember that.
It is not wrong to ask for tabs. I cannot provide them. Finding out yourself and praticing a lot you gradually improve your bass skills. Maybe someone else can help you out. Good luck.
I'm simply at a loss for words and I'm also pretty sure that all the previous "wow"s covered for everything I was about to say. I would really like to have the tabs, if possible. I've been playing bass for just half a year, but I'm prepared to do my best. Thank you!
I am at a loss for words at your incredible memory to remember all the tabs. You play for the love of music and it comes across in all your videos. So thanks from the South Pacific island of New Zealand
I'm sorry infusion26. I wasn't referring to you. People have commented that asking for tabs is wrong. I just think players should learn whichever way they can as long as they are having fun.
I like your bass to this number. Is it as the original or your own version? I used to play bass for groups back in the 1960's mainly as an amateur but I haven't played for many years. Sometimes I copied the original but other times I improvised. It's a great instrument to play.
This bass line shows that sometimes you just underneath the song compared to another Pual Simon song like 'late in the evening' where you're driving the song
you are one of my favorite bass players here on youtube ... thanks for sharing your work man .. i'll love to hear one day a cover of jealous guy on that nice bass of yours ... cheers from H-town
