1 min u r saying they should be praised, and not long ago, wasn't u moaning saying the atmosphere was crap. 4 me as a fan, these cards are the best ever shown at a time. u.k audiences can watch em.much better than the states where the fights are early hours in the morning. I love it
Cause it was a stupid lame narrative to begin with, they always push the negatives for clickbait/headlines till they relaised most boxing fans don't agree.
Remember when Frank was telling everyone the Fury v Ngannou fight was a game changer, well here we go this is what he was on about, credit to Frank, well done .
It was actually Spencer Brown who introduced Frank to the Saudi's, it was Spencer Brown who negotiated the Ngannou fight and Spencer Brown who flew to New York to offer a deal to Usyk's team...... Spencer Brown is very influential in all this
If it weren't for the Saudis we legit would never see Beterbiev vs bivol and a bunch of ther fights made on their cards. The atmosphere and fact its not UK or US is irrelevant since we wouldn't see the fights at all otherwise. Just be grateful ffs
Agreed on the atmosphere bud. Invite a few mates round, get a couple of crates in and watch with the sound off,, then the atmospheres fine where you are. and with the fights that are finally happening at a good u.k. time and good ppv price I'm Honestly loving it right now.. but I'm still somehow uncomfortable with the thought of it being so easy for anyone with enough money to just walk into the sport and instantly gain do much power over it.. what happens if all goes to his head and he starts playing favourites,, at least when suliman or valcarcel do it, there's another 3 governing bodies to somewhat compensate..even more worrying, what if one one day soon, he just finds something else more interesting and moves on?? Hopefully it's just me being an old cynic.. 35 yrs of following this sport'll do that to ya!
@bombercountyblues exactly man, if id never wanna trade the "atmosphere" for no longer seeing the best vs the best uno. I dwfp understand ur concerns about the power and influence they could wield tho. Like it is worrying and can end up with ufc situation where if u gota Dana privilege ur sorted, but if u don't then its tough for u as a fighter. However I do think they'll likely keep it to just the big events, I hope at least.
@@TY-km8hj yeah, as I said. I am loving it right now. No denying that.. its just the thought of our sport being treated as someone's personal plaything.. particularly given his past as a former owner of 2 different football clubs.. he might just turn around on a whim tomorrow and decide he wants to do f1, nfl or nba now.. then boxings left in the dark ages!
@bombercountyblues yhh I hear that, tho I do genuinely think we're safe purely cos of Turki's love of the sport. U can tell by his knowledge of it and his opinions of fighters, he's obviously got a passion for the sport
I'm still bemused as to why Jordans opinion on boxing is considered in any way relevant ; he's neither an ex-pro nor a boxing journalist. He's nothing more than a fan yet he speaks down to Spencer , an ACTUAL ex pro who almost lost his life in the ring , as though he's got more authority on the subject , extraordinary arrogance. My bet is that he's never been punched in the face in his life...
crowds inspire the fights..we dont see any of the money..if these fights got made here they would be better..but at least they getting made..the experience aint so good from a boxing viewpoint though..
@@saintdon4461Like I said we are in to boxing and you guys are into Sweet Caroline’s and crowds full of fans drunk off their a$$. Miss me with that I will take this great boxing card all day everyday. Thank you
@@JD-re3cjThe crowd and sweet Caroline and fans drunk off their a$$ didn’t give us some of the big fights we’ve witnessed recently the Saudis did. So like I said we are boxing fans and you guys are into drunk crowds singing sweet Caroline 😂
I love saudi doing the big boxing events living in ireland is a nightmare to watch a vegas or new york based fight suns coming up by the time a main event is over 🤣
It'd be nice for this to set a precedent for promotions clashing: Matchroom v Golden Boy would be easy on DAZN; PBC & Top Rank have co-sold several PPVs.
Simon Jordan and Talk Sport are the most obvious bootlickers 😅 they changed narrative about fury and praising him because they are afraid of losing opportunity to be present at his fights. And praising his “ excellence” now for the same reasons 😂 this was the last time I tuned in
Hahah this guy Simon is a joke! First he says the Saudis are bad for boxing, changing the boxing infrastructure and fighters will wait till they get a big payday in Saudi. Now all of of sudden he changed his mind. People like him have always an dumb opinion without even thinking for a second.
Its not great for the fans like us that turn up to most events now we have to watch them on tv, boring i would rather go watch it live with just 2 of these fights, it good for Saudi and promotors, but thats about it.... what on earth happens we saudi steps back, we all in trouble
Riddle me this, if the Gulf States are in fact not the atheists we seem to be treating them as and would prefer a muslim globe, does the fact we imbedding their financing deep within so many of our public and private institutions not mean we will be less able to resist attempts to guide our societies towards their preferred outcome?
I'm surprised that Simon Jordan hasn't done his own show with wee man about this event but then again maybe he's sulking because neither promoter cares what he thinks about it
The Saudis are doing things that Don King, Bob Arum, Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn and Al Haymon couldn't because the Saudis don't bring their ego into negotiations.
Simon Jordan still in denial about the fact that Usyk won every minite of every round against Du Bois, dropped him twice and made him quit in the ninth round. It's a real shame the Du Bois wa not allowed to steal the fight with one of his numerous low blows🙄.
Simon Jordan kidding that he wouldn't drop his pants and do the YMCA to earn millions of pounds dealing with Saudi arabia is brilliant. Whilst being an employed journalist/DJ on RU-vid for a few quid for a 100th of the price
FFS why can’t Simon just make a point and move on. Yeah we get it, the Saudi money might have a negative impact in the long run as fighters will overestimate their worth more than they already sometimes do. We get it 🤦♂️
As long as they got millions anything is possible in the old days we said sold their soul to the devil now days everyone competes to get in that long line to the devils belly and the prices are much cheaper now
All Simon does is complain, I wouldn’t mind but he passes the buck onto the “boxing fans”. He’s just got a chip on his shoulder because he’s been priced out and now he’s too poor to get involved.
