When was the last time Salah dived? Maybe in first season but hardly remember any major diving controversy ..he was too busy scoring 30 odd goals. He rarely gets freekicks for the amount of times he's kicked, generally stays on his feet. Ronaldo used to dive far more. To say he doesn't turn up in pressure moments? ....he's scored 20+ goals every season 3 times over 30. Broke numerous liverpool records. He scored in high pressure games against City, champions league finals, African Cup of nations scoring decisive shootout penalties multiple times, top champions league scorer for Liverpool, over 200 goals in 7 seasons for Liverpool. Former multiple golden Boot winner, African player of the year, premier league player of the year. They don't give those awards to average players. Salah stopped diving after his first season with Liverpool. In 6.5 years, he missed just 10 games, whilst scoring 200+ goals and winning absolutely everything. Salah's a machine (and he's a winger!). His form this season has certainly dropped (despite the goals), particularly since AfCon. Salah and Nunez's wastefulness in front of goal since March has cost Liverpool hugely. Proper rest in the summer and a good preseason may get Salah back to his best.

At a point in time, media were called out for reducing the talents of black players to rudimentary terms such as “he’s big and he’s strong” with more flattering terms such as “intelligent, skilful etc” used for other players When it comes to diving, it seems common place to label non-white/English players as “divers” where the same behaviour is labelled as “cute, street-wise, clever centre forward play” for the English players.
