People quickly forget Haaland missed 7 Premier League matches this season through injury and has missed two months worth of matches this season. His 38 goals and 6 assists in 43 matches is still seriously impressive. The knock against Haaland this season is his conversion rate has decreased and his big chances missed increased. Realistically, Watkins outperformed his expectations while Haaland underperformed his. Which just goes to show how off the charts Haaland really is. Another tidbit that most people look past is that Haaland’s loss of form not only coincided with him coming back from being out injured for two months but he also lost a family member at right around the same time he returned to City in early February. Pep mentioned that Haaland was struggling with the loss behind the scenes and people forget he’s still only 23. So dealing with loss at that age can still be very raw. Just a little more perspective because people very often forget players are human too off the pitch.

If Harry Kane had 27 league goals nobody would say Watkins over him

Watkins - 19 goals (0 penalties), 13 assists, 32 total goal contributions. Haaland - 27 goals (7 penalties), 5 assists, 32 total goal contributions. It's funny how Simon says that pochettino did not make any sense but then when it was his turn to speak on the subject he didn't say anything that made any sense himself. If I understood correctly, Pochettino basically said that this season was not up to Chelsea's historic standards as a club, but considering all the circumstances, the season was a success. I don't know what was so hard to understand about that to say that nothing he said made sense.

That's 40 goal involvements and he doesn't take penalties, he also doesn't get the amount of service that Erling Haaland receives. Haaland's an exceptional striker but i think Watkins has had a better season than Haaland 🦁

There is an argument to be made for any of Haaland, Isak or Watkins and even as a Newcastle fan I can't really argue too much with anyone who picks Watkins. Seems like Simon just decided to have an argument for the sake of it.
