The amount of stick Souness got was insane. He was 100% right. You have your whole life to live a glitzy and glamorous life with the money stars like him have, you have a small amount of years to maximise your talent and once that is gone, you can't get it back. A shame he didn't reach his unbelievable potential, but he's earnt enough money and fame to live an extremely privalaged and happy life. But I don't feel sorry for him given how hard life is for a lot of people
Paul Pogba is the perfect example to illustrate United's downfall. Ever since SAF left, United transformed into somewhat of a mercenary hub, where players were given the benefit of doubt over anyone else. Everytime, or for most of the time, it was the manager who lost the plot. Mourinho was 100% right to claim that finishing 2nd with those bunch of players was his best achievement. And quite clearly, he never even wanted the likes of Pogba in his team.
The irony in your comment. Players were given the benefit of the doubt? I would think more so than any player, Ole was given the benefit of the doubt 😂
Mourinho has spent 20 years pointing the finger and never accepting any responsibility for failures.. He didn’t mean what he said at all, United had THE most expensive squad in history at the time, THE highest paid squad on Earth at the time.. He signed the players ffs, United one of only two sides on Earth who can sign players based on their name and not their type, he hand picked every signing, that’s the way it is at United but he didn’t want Pogba? He takes no blame? Stop it, making things up in your head.. The man hasn’t done anything at the top for 8 years now and people still go on as if he’s relevant and capable? No.. He spent his way along for 12 years never improving a player, never teaching a player and now he’s a dinosaur stuck in 2005 refusing to evolve with the game AND life.
@@thisisspartaa7910 that everyone claims pogba is world class is my point… When players like seedorf used to do what pogba has done with his eyes closed.. Not really hard to understand mate
@Ghost-face941 he somehow managed to get a Ronaldo/Messi level of popularity and fanboydom whilst never getting even close to their level of performance. Bizarre.
I thought he was easily going to be our best player for years, now I understand how important mindset and sacrifice are, learn from Pogba what not to do.
Some players are just injury-prone and he is one of them. Plus England media had a "hidden" agenda against him...now that we know about his family/entourage issues impacted him greatly.
@@EmilyMadden-bq3le His underlying character was already formed at that age, the flaws were there. United should have stayed well clear. He set a bad example. It continues to this day with the weak mentality of the likes of Martial, Sancho, Greenwood & Rashford.
Man United we’re the ones that let him go for nothing, spent 100 million to bring him back, and then let him go for nothing again. They’re the clowns in this scenario.
@@wukongsun6223 please explain? He was one of the biggest young names in football and Sir Alex let him go because of his attitude, this is pretty common knowledge
Everyone sided with Pogba when Mounrinho spoke out against him. They supported Martial Rashford and others over the Coach saying he's created a toxic environment for the players. The Neville Scholes cult openly said so. The same players got free reign with zero accountability under Ole. Whatever their performace was they got selected. Now suddenly everyone have a chamge of heart and say the players are spoilt and ETH is disciplining them and manager has to be chosen over players. United deserve this downfall. Zero sympathies.
"the world cup in 2018 was one of the best individual world cups you could have seen in recent years". Really? He was good but thats over egging it a fair bit. Pretty sure he didnt even get in the team of the tournament. He played well but people for years have over exaggerated that world cup for him to try and keep his name as one of the world class talents. He isnt.
@@liamfred9011no he wasn’t most of the France team played better throughout the tournament. He didn’t get in the team of the tournament because he was average
@@liamfred9011 I just dont agree he was the best player haha. What agenda is that? Clearly others agree as you can see with the teams. I thought he did play well though. Just not as good as you seem to think.
My sentiments exactly!!! In the glory years they never complain unless it's requesting for more money..The moment the light stops shining and suddenly they are struggling with mental health issues etc.. Pogba has been the cause of his rise and fall..Just look in the mirror bruh, we don't wanna hear you b****ng
It's the case with this generation of footballers. They believe their own hype. I remember when you had to perform at a high level for years in order to be considered world class. Now, everyone is world class after doing very little.
@@TheKh65 Playing well for a season and a tournament isn't doing it at a high level for years on end. Pogba wasn't pivotal, he was carried. Big difference. Arguably the most overrated player of his generation.
@@AJ-nd4nkStop lying to suit your bum narrative. He spent 4 great seasons at Juventus before returning to Man united. Call out his behaviour but don't lie doing that. It makes sound like a baby
@@Samoni0608 You're proving my point. 'Great' is overused in this era. He was good for a short time. Nothing more. Pogba does not belong in the conversation of elite midfielders.
And it goes right across all levels of modern society..the average guy or girl walking down the street today..carry themselves like their some kind of superstar..never mind someone who has actually got a bit of talent..it's a horribly conceited time in history we now live in!
I think pogba pulled a Roger Milla, united signed him at 16 but he was really 26 that's why he looked so good, this fella said he was the best at his age in world and bigger than everyone else
@@TribalScan. It's weird though.. cause I'm sure he is being paid to talk somewhere about something by some one or has been significantly at some time unlike you Mr 9 to 5 poes
@@TribalScan. He's an old, retired man who still gets paid a small fortune to watch and talk about football in his free time. Because he is one of the most successful men in world football history. It's funny that this triggers you so badly
I really like Pogba and think at times he was unfairly targeted as he was in a Utd team that wasn’t as talented and balanced as the Juventus team. He must have thought he was the first of many players of high quality that would come in and that never really materialised. The team was never really built to challenge for top honours. He was definitely scapegoated for a club that was and is poorly run. I hope for his sake, that his B sample isn’t positive as he has been through a lot in his personal life as well.
Poorly run of not the basics of football for a midfielder are to attack and defend. Pogba didn’t want to defend and was found out. You can’t do what you want in modern football or you’ll end up on the scrap heap like pogba
Been proven wrong enough times.. Hence him being sacked from pretty much every club he’s managed within 3 years and his failure to be anywhere near the top of the game for 8 years now..
Even when Paul had talked about Mental health issues...those same folks said " NO SYMPATHTY"! dismissed it! Those folks have had a deep hatred for Pogba for some "unknown" reason.
They never wanted him to succeed to begin. Granted he wasn't perfect himself, however it's hard to play at your best when there's always an agenda against you
Pogba biggest mistake was joining a club that didn’t win major trophies since 2013 and media/pundits was looking for a scapegoat to put blame on, even di Maria quickly left the club as he knew he would have been the scapegoat but unfortunately pogba wasn’t smart enough to know this
Pogba is the rare case of a footballer who would actually suit the Middle East; revels in the money, the spectacle, the celebrity. He’s not an athlete in his heart of hearts.
When I think about it, I think Pogba biggest mistake was leaving around Sir Alex Ferguson, who would've nurtured him and kept him level-headed. His agent moved him away from Alex Ferguson so that he could manipulate him and control his mind and use him as a cash cow. Everyone around him was and is about money, they doesn't really care about his wellbeing
Why are people acting like he wasn't injured? He still worked hard and he had the talent. He isn't just some ungrateful and inflexible jokester. I will not give him a pass for the doping. I understand why, but i would suspend him all the same. There is no exceptions.
the illusion that pogba is "world class on his day" fizzled the moment Raiola died. Without the puppet master feeding positive PR into the media about this bang average player being "world class", people either woke up to the truth about pogba's limited abilities; or more likely they just stopped caring. Pogba hasn't underachieved, there's this idea that he's some how "wasted his talent". What talent, he was so clumsy on the ball, he didn't even stand out in a cup game against Rochdale, I'm not exaggerating he was second best against league two midfielders. He's done incredibly well to have a world cup medal, largely thanks to Kante and Matuidi covering his many deficiencies. He's the footballing equivalent to the emperor's new robe. Just because Adidas or Nike tell you a footballer is incredible doesn't make it the truth.
Biggest flop in the history of the EPL..Pogba left united at a young age and united later paid over 100M for him..he then ran down his contract to go back to Juventus for free ..this is worst than Lukaku and I don’t care why anyone says
Pogba should’ve transferred to Madrid instead of back to United in 2016. His career would’ve been so different, could’ve came back to United after being at Madrid.
Don't worry souness was still saying that pogba was the reason utd lost again. He was politely pointed out that pogba wasn't only not playing in the game but had already left ages ago back to juve 😂 There was dead air after that revelation
As a Man Utd. I LOVE IT. Football federation should put severe law against those kinds of douchebags. This applies also for players who played for MONEY ONLY.
What an underwhelming career, could of been 1 of the best players of his generation BUT made that career ruining move to a UTD side in transition. I still don't get why he didn't go to Madrid with Zidane he would of fulfilled his potential. Has to be one of the biggest fall offs in Football History
Kleberson is also a WC winner. This does not make you immortal as a footballer. Enzo Fernandez was a WC winner last year. How is his Chelsea career going since his transfer.
I think a professional world cup winner wont do such a stupid thing knowing the possible risks. So what really happened is that Juve wanted to end the contract anyway possible, because Pogba didn't play last season and this season started bad for him being injured most of the time, Juve doesn't want to pay him up to 2026. So he is out, as simple as that.
Pogba one of the most overrated players, everyone was to blame: the coach, injuries, playing style, teammates,fans....but not him, when he was at United he spend more time recovering from injuries in Dubai than on the football pitch
I used to defend Pogba but in hindsight he never had the ambition to be focused on being the best he could. His talent combined with his physicality should have made him a monster.
@@richardobiekwe9437 I get what both of you are saying. You could be right but I do think of players like Suarez at Liverpool or Kane at Tottenham. They always play good regardless of the average team around them or bad manager.
@@seb1554 True but you picked out two strikers. People will ignore an average performance if they score goals Not saying Kane or Suarez are average ofc but they don't have to operate 80-90% in the midfield of any given game
Paul Pogba is NOT a footballer, he is first and foremost a social media influencer. Yes, he started as a footballer and there was certainly a time period in his youth where he wanted to pursue a footballer's journey, but I think that all changed quickly for him when all the money and fame came. Also, Pogba was always spoiled with praise in his teen years, look at all the people saying how he was the best, head and shoulders above his peers throughout youth levels. Such praise is terrible for kids, it inflates their egos too much. He has a lot of ego in him. I remember Scholes saying that despite elite level quality that he has, he also does stupid things on the pitch all the time and absolutely needs bigger better players around him to constantly talk to him and keep him concentrated. Apart from Juventus team that he played for before, after that he never had anyone like that. It's a shame, his development could have led into a career of a legend, but his attitude and mentality was never straightened out and so he ends his career now in shambles. His family drama thing? No symphaty from me, he is a multi-millionaire influencer who is set to live a cushy lux lifestyle for the rest of his life after football. Why should I and everyone else feel bad for him?
Simon your the only realist when it comes to media quotes my admiration has no bounds for you and your stance on pogba in 2006 operation Puerto busted half the tdf but also on that list where unnamedfootballers from all the top teams in Europe at the time and fifa swept it under the carpet look it up and get better informed I think at least the top 5 percent and the over 32 years all micro dose in some shape or form I've been a big cycling fan for over 30 years and after a while you see the signs of doping in all sports I now except it and if you get caught tough do the crime do the time keep up the great work simon
Pogba is like the poster boy for failed talent. All the talent with zero work rate , they dotn even let 10s slide with bad work rates anymore let alone a 6 or a 8 who doesn't try. Fergie knew from day 1 why do you think he gave pogba away on a free transfer. It was absolutely a slap in his face by signing him back 2 years later for 80mil😂😂😂
Pogba's ego has always been his problem. He's an amazing footballer, but he could have been far better had he took better choices and been more accepting to not being all about himself.
Am a Man U fan but What a silly thing to say , Pogba’s Not amazing at all ! And never was because pogba never had any consistency, always getting injured ,lazy as hell, big head trouble maker . And now a drug cheat , what a let down he ended up . Facts 😊
unfortunately since this videos has been released he has tested positive for PEDs, suspension could be anywhere between 2-4 years, no doubt he will retire after the B sample comes back positive. Hes had a very dramatic career to think he had the world at his feet a decade ago , similar to the rise of Bellingham , all went down hill when he went to united. Minus the WC.
Ill always dislike Pogba for purposely getting a red card in one of Oles last games when he was under massive pressure. Ole brings him on, he gets a red right away and smiles as hes sent off. Oles a legend, Pogba's an influencer.
Yep that was against my beloved Liverpool the 5-0 battering lol, Pogba took out Keita who played 1 of his best games for Liverpool, think Pogba was on the pitch for 5 minutes...I knew then that Pogba was not gonna be at Man U for another season
@eNyaaaw pogba should be ashamed of himself that day, fair enough we already won the game but still try and get your team back a consolation goal or even stop more goals....tbh yes I kinda felt for Ole even though im a Liverpool fan...the away fans singing "Ole at the wheel" had me laughing 🤣🤣
An injury blighted careeer. That scandal with his family was also insane. Hype can bring a circus and this clouds many a promising career... While criticism is not unjustified personally I find that the excessive finger pointing and malice towards players like Pogba, Lukaku and Balotelli says a lot about envy and societal bias. Many will dance on his career's gravesite....
Yea but is it envy or expecting what they should be expecting of themselves? Its pretty basic. You get paid a lot of money in any industry and if you perform poorly you will open yourself up to ridicule. Yes, the off the field stuff with his family was insane. But again, if i go to my boss who is paying me a lot of money to deliver and tell him i was extorted, he would say take a couple weeks off and come back fresh. Thats pretty much it. Just because they are rich and famous doesnt mean they deserve more ridicule than the rest of us, but doesnt absolve them when they are wrong/underperform
I think a lot of footballers have taken steroids, it something has been shown to improve performance in many sports, what's surprising to me is this is one of the only times you've ever heard about someone caught for doping in one of the big European leagues
I didn't know that Simon Jordan was actually God...condemning Pogba like that..." he's done, he's finished..." Ibrahimovic, Modric, CR7 and many more players played/playing into their late 30's
Yes, but they didn't do it after taking a four year break from playing. If Pogba doesn't play a professional game in four years, then any Pogba who returned would be woefully unfit.
He's the kind of bloke that will release a bio at the end of his career, and fill it with chapters about how he was victimised and hard done by, and no one gave him chances and so on and so on. I never rated him personally, always thought he was flash and no actual content. I would take someone like Milner over him any day.
Or he was flash but the club he played had no content or ambition as we can see today. Who is the current scapegoat now? Sancho? It is always the good ones but never the most loved whom are actually the most arrogant and the worst giving why they are still in United after United has sold a whole team of players galaxies better. United ruined his career like many others.
Pogba's central mistake was allowing Mino Raiola to sell him to Man Utd purely for more cash at a time when Real Madrid, and Zinedine Zidane, wanted him. The mistake of a lifetime.
He was very overrated apart from the World Cup win he hasn’t done anything we wasted time buying him back. He stole a living at united and he’s ruined himself
@@stevenicol1 Truth to what? You said he couldn't hack it in a decent league. So because the PL is currently better, serie a isn't a decent league? We're going to act Pogba wasn't good enough for the premier league when the likes of Lingard, Tielemans and Joelinton are? Outside of Bruno, name me a mid the Man U signed since 2016 that consistently shone. Maybe that's the reason, along with other factors, than doing the predictable PL circle jerk.
