Living in Shetland and being an Arsenal fan is pretty rough lol. Especially now since they've introduced a raffle system for tickets and you only find out two weeks before a game if you can buy tickets or not. Simon got schooled here, see how he very deliberately ignored the fact that charging say £20 more a CL ticket than they should really over the course of the season gives a tiny fraction of revenue increase for a club, Mr Brunskill completely took him to task and showed him up as someone that talks confidently despite not knowing the facts. Such as Simon confidently quoting that clubs revenue is 20% tickets and in fact its around half, or less than that. Simon says that 90% of tickets are ST, so by that definition the increase in prices for such a small number of tickets is going to have minimal effect. But, it does price a significant proportion of people, mostly families, out of the game. Basically the extra money they make would probably pay about half a weeks salary for one of their first team. If Villa want a financially viable club, this isn't the way to do it, and the obvious way to do it right there in front of you where 80% of your costs are paying players.

We’re all thankful of what the owners have done, but the revenue shouldn’t be coming from season ticket holders who have sat and watched every minute of their team putting in a second-worst season the premier league has ever seen. Our kit deal is worth 4x it was before. We now have sleeve sponsors that bring in millions. It’s Chris heck’s job to get money from sponsors and manufacturers, not fans who helped getting their team to this competition in the first place. I never thought I’d see my team in the champions league, now that we’re there I’m worried I can’t afford to watch them there.

Cold light of day is that AVFC is a business. Take it or leave it like it or not. It matters not how long we've supported a club, we will NEVER have a right or the privilege of running the club because believe it or not, weeeeeee are no more than customers. The days of turning up on a Saturday or match day at the last minute and getting in for a bag of chips has long gone. Players high wages need paying. With success comes higher overheads. With higher prices comes a different band of customer. It doesn't sit well when intelligent people state the obvious that fans are delusional and somehow believe that they OWN a club or are somehow ENTITLED to have a say in how a club sets it's prices. But actually, that's a perfect summing up of hardcore fans worldwide. Somehow we feel because we've been paying for petrol for thirty years that somehow we should have a say in what the price of petrol is. But NO we don't. We just stop driving because we can't afford it, or pay the price and cry about it for the rest of our lives and ignore the fact that no one gives a stuff. History has proved that fact. One day we'll wake up and stop going to games. We'll give up our seats to the higher earners and find a new passion. Let's keep it real, that's EXACTLY what's happening. The turnstiles will always turn and the fans will always come. Leaving complainers to complain as they watch the game from the working man's pub or home armchair. I guarantee that no matter how much we complain, the price Villa set will not budge one penny. Villa will tell us loud and clear that the money men at the top who run the club are not running a charity. It's business. Wakey wakey Villans. It's a new day. Buy at the price or don't go. That's the harsh but it's the true bottom line. That seat WILL NOT be empty on match day. Villa 'Til I Die. But I tend to watch from the armchair nowadays. I saw the shift coming quite a while ago tbh 🤷🏽‍♂️

And for people to bring up cost of living is a joke if your struggling to pay villa then you shouldn't even think about but times to watch football when you can watch it for free online . People.trying to live outside there means I haven't been to villa park since we have been back in the pre m due to not able to afford it . I don't moan because I live within my means I could cancel my holiday to pay for a season ticket but I don't I would rather take the family on holiday then go to the football . People will always find something to moan about I garuntte villa park will be sold out and if it is then there clearly isnt a problem

And our aston villa owners have just shelled out £50 million for Onana from Everton and we are now eating at the top table in the Premier league and champions league football, I am not sure what villa fans want , me personally would be happy to pay £200 to see bayern Munich play at Villa Park in the champions league, I was at the last game we was in the CL in 1983 Against Juventus and we got thumped 3 -0 , I have waited 41 years for this and I didn't think I would see this before I departed this world , so bring it on and if you don't want to pay small heath will welcome you with open arms at 20 or 30 quid a ticket in the 3rd division
@chrisweaver5222
@chrisweaver5222 10 дней назад
In fairness there are fans that simply can't afford the prices so staying home to watch them certainly shouldn't be punished with watching SMALL heath, I just can't afford tickets after rent and making sure my daughter has what she needs, but I'll watch every villa game on TV or on my phone, even at work as I work in a pub with sports lol

 It's the price of success and villa's big problem is the ground size 42k, and that is also reduced on champions league nights and if villa want to compete then the price of entry goes up , you only only have to go back 8 short years and villa got 17pts total and it was garbage and we deserved relegation, but now villa are shelling out £50 million for one player. Until villa gets a larger capacity of 50 or 60 thousand and the price of tickets maybe could be reduced And theres a price to pay until something happens to villa park

I'm happy to pay. Some extra cost for all the happiness I got last season. If we want a successful club, we need to match it with investment. Our board have spoken out that they want to spend more but they can't under PSR. Thats where we come in to increase the clubs income. If its to much money for you, maybe not go to every game and allow others to go.

The whole football revenue thing is a scam. Because you love something they think that they can rinse you. Do we really want to spend all our money to pay players a few more thousand a week while the rest of us worry about how we will pay our bills? Then football clubs are still making ridiculous losses despite us fans pumping in cash. Money has not improved football at all, it has just taken it away from the fans.

Common sense . Well done I'm a villa fan and haven't been able to afford a pre m ticket for years now but I don't blame them doing it is villa fans want us to be back it the top and we can't do that if we sell tickets at championship prices half these fans started going while we was in the championship or battling relegation and now we are a top 4 team we chat exists championship level . What makes it worse is it's mostly people outside brum complaining most the so called villa fans from dudley and redditch are the same melons that want the owners to build a new stadium proof they arnt villa fans there is not a single true villa fan that want to move from villa park and will riot of there was even talk about it

Look, as a villa fan this is outrageous BUT Jim, your confirmation bias is out in full force again. “3x the price of Liverpool tickets” £90 vs £30 Taking the most expensive villa ticket and a cheaper Liverpool ticket. 50% more is actually accurate - £90 vs £60 which is most expensive vs most expensive Chopper.
