Alf Ramsey and Bobby Robson both left Ipswich but only after years of loyal service and only to manage England. I contend they were both legendary managers and even greater than what McKenna is at the moment. McKenna should test himself with Ipswich in the Premiership before leaving at the first opportunity for clubs that won’t afford him any loyalty without success.

Maresca owes Leicester because they gave him his first job and he had the best team in the championship as for Mckenna he doesn't owe Ipswich because he wasn't expected to get promoted and he did. He however owes it to himself to prove he can keep Ipswich in the league with limited budget which will also increase his value as a manager, just look at Alonso.

@douglasmegson3739

I disagree. Ipswich took a risk as they saw a potential good manager. They've nutured him and given him everything he asked for. Essentially it's been a good fit. This may not happen if he moves on. McKenna's style is to get workmanlike players who are not possibly the best but will give their all at all times. It's the team that counts, not expensive individuals
@Bluelight44
@Bluelight44 4 месяца назад
@@douglasmegson3739 my bad, I was referring to maresca but since you're talking about McKenna, come on back to back promotions, literally from a very weak division (league 1) in comparison to Premier league in 2 seasons without spending huge amounts of money. There has to be no debt between Ipswich and McKenna. I am not an Ipswich fan but if Ipswich fans think McKenna owes them because they gave him a chance then y'all are just greedy Oh and I am talking about McKenna going to Brighton, that is perfect in my opinion but him going to Chelsea or MAN U is too big of a leap.

Whatever McKenna decides to do is ok by me. He doesn’t owe Ipswich anything, and the club will be compensated if he moves. However I’d say Chelsea and United could be a bad step at this stage. Jordan is miles out here. If he stays at Ipswich and has a cracking season, what does he get, a job like Chelsea anyway? But if he gets relegated or struggles his stock is gone and could even be sacked. Take the job, if you fail you’re set for life anyway financially and if you succeed then happy days

Why is simon always bitter about manager or player progression..when clubs looks at their own interest n why should others not do the same

What are you talking about Simon? It would be massive career mismanagement turning it down. What opportunities will arise bigger than United if he stays up with Ipswich next year? Endless list of managers have come up after doing well in the champ, done well in the prem and then dont get a sniff of any top job. Dyche, Frank, Cooper, Wilder etc etc. These top clubs dont come calling for promoted managers often. There is nothing to suggest Mckenna would get a top 4 club coming for him because it never happens to these managers coming up which is why everyone find the Kompany one so baffling. Thats only because of his name.

Yes and endless managers f the career up jumping ship at either club, I hope McKenna and Maresca say to them stick your money where the sun don't shine, why should they go to big clubs for one season just to get sack that ain't how football always work, you're delusional.

Ruben Amorim is a technician in football a top manager in the making for me he could go in a top 4 clubs he has all the qualities and talent to bring success to the club he has the potential to go all the way to the top with the right backing he had a interview with West Ham and someone leaked it and then said he only did it for the Liverpool job it didn’t take him long to work out Sullivan and Tim he was back on that plane and didn’t look back. He will be back soon in the premier League

😊there's no denying that Sim9n talks a lot of sense at times. But I feel that his football experiences have left him with a very negative attitude towards the game in general

A lot of these players and managers are under NDA. Now think of these comment by these ppl. "Van Haal told ETH not to go to MU as they are a commercial club." "Thr owner doesn't care about the club " by CR7. and now link these into Paqueta and Tonali cases. I just wish Simon Jordan could spells out what is on his mind.

Simon expecting loyalty from a sport that loyalty doesn't exist (fans excluded). Clubs don't offer it, so why should players and managers.

Mckenna doesnt really owe Ipswich anything, he actually owes it to himself to prove that he is a sustainable premier league manager. He hasnt proven himself in the premier league yet. So sticking with ipswich with the ambition to keep them up in the first season will be job done. Now whos knocking on his door!

Loyalty works both ways. Those clubs could easily sack them managers if they start tge season bad. Hard to turn big jobs at big clubs if you get offered

Enzo did the job but his style was boring and tbh not everyone believes in it or the fact it will succeed in the pl. If he goes so be it ,we move on. I wouldnt be annoyed if he did,also the club didnt tell him the full story when he joined about ffp and finance ,hes given them his list and awaits ,this also could be a factor should he go. Cfc omg though they fire managers even if they win cups .

A team that is going for their seventh permanent manager or head coach in six years must be avoided by forward thinking young coaches. Chelsea can only find someone who works for short-term. It's hard to be in club where you told ceratin players must play, and where they tell what to do as coach as happened to Pochettino. Chelsea owners have a long way to go in learning how to run a Premier League team. Just sad.
