Let's be straight.The PIF is not separate from the saudi state. You just have to look at a substance of the relationship and comparative relationships to be able to draw that conclusion.

The Saudi Arabia public investment fund is owned by the Saudi state but so what thst is irrelevant and a none story. There is nothing stopping ANY state owning a PL football club. End of story

Worse than that, the first thing the Saudis said they'd do was to basically refurbish (through investments) the city itself. Even as a geordie, that scared the life out of me for a number of reasons. They scrapped the idea pretty quickly. And rightly so
