One of the best speech broadcasters on the BBC unceremoniously ditched by the Bob Shennan following a disastrous partnering with Jo Whiley. Despite this, and fucking up most of the stations schedule, Bob kept his job, there is no accounting for ones failures at the beeb, in fact you’re rewarded for it.
Simon Mayo was alright on Radio 1 and then later of course on Radio 2 too. But when the BBC oddly paired him with Jo Whiley and then let him go, it did all seem to go downhill-alas! Thank you!
you have to remember, simon did this when radio 1 was cooler. dave pearce didn't look too impressed in the background with blobby breaking one of his tracks!
