Someone really should do a 'The Power of "The Power of Art" ' series. For me it's the most important piece of film I've ever seen, it literally changed my life. I've seen it back in 2008 and I quit my job in less than 2 weeks. It's hard to choose a favorite episode, back then of course it was the Rothko one, but, as a music lover foremost, the David episode stuck most with me over the years. Michael Haydn's Requiem and Vivaldi's Cum Dederit just blew my mind. Never before or since have I seen such a fusion of words, image and music. Bravo to all involved and a huge thank you.
I cannot think of a more well-measured yet enjoyably impassioned TV Presenter/Historian (perhaps Michael Wood) - Just about everything by him over the years has been _fabulous_
my favourite series ever and my favourite programme - rothko thank you deeply for this and your explanation is beautiful hope you read my words - you achieved your aims
The question is WHERE IS THE BLU-RAY? It's incredible that such an esteemed series about art is not available in HD, when apparently it aired in HD on some stations. WTF?
Simon you said in your bbc 4 documentarie regarding Vincent he only took a chunk of his ear but in a letter he took his cut his full ear off as in a new letter not long been found , ??
I have to say that this is close to the most boorish analyses of Art I've been unfortunate enough to see and hear ps: - insert scathing, witty reply here -
