For 2021, Team BikeExchange are using Bianchi frames. Finished in a classic celeste and raw carbon colour way, these really stand out in the peloton. At just 1.72m tall, Yates uses a XXS size 47cm frame, which he's been dancing up the mountains of Italy onto the Giro d'Italia podium. Do you think he can go all the way and steal the Maglia Rosa in the final few days? Do you prefer BikeExchange's Bianchis, or Jumbo Visma's of last years? Let us know in the comments below!

Someone at GCN, please stop Dan Lloyd saying the word 'fact' when it's not required. Have a look back at his live commentary on GCN/Eurosport & the Breakaway. The other commentators/presenters never say the word because it would be equally unfitting...Lloyd uses it in a wrongful & monotonous fashion.

7.17kg for a 48cm bike that costs 10.5k quid.... Thats pretty good value when you think of it. In 2007 10.5k quid only got you a bike that was 6.1kg with pedals and tubulars. Now you get a FULL kg extra material for the same money!

@nicksterl.2133 3 года назад
Bra, f the weight. Let's talk about these insane prices. Who are the idiots who think that any bike is worth 10000 quid? Maybe the 1kg of extra weight is all the gold that makes this bike so expensive?

@@nicksterl.2133 You are correct. The manufacturers are creaming it for every cent. Eg. The actual cost (materials/labour) to produce a top level carbon frame, any brand, is $550 Ofcourse there is R&D on top but spread over a particular model/per frame, it's say another $100 Total $650US & then theres the highly inflated parts prices. Eg. No it doesn't cost Shimano 3x the price to produce Dura Ace over 105. The internals are very similar these days, just some different materials used to lessen weight. BUT like anything, as long as the demand is there & people cough up, manufacturers will make, sell & make a very very tidy profit.

Couple that with a XXS frame = a steep seat tube angle too which means he's riding very far over the bottom bracket. The position on his last bike (Scott Addict) was no way near as extreme. I see some deviation from what Bianchi Team Jumbo Visma was riding on the last couple of years. They never used the specialissima because they though the Oltre was the best overal package, seen weight, stiffness and aerodynamics. Why Team Bike exchange does choose to ride the specialisme and also the disk brake version? Also 52 tooth chainring is remarkable!
@bilwit

the disc specialissima is lighter than the disc oltre, with discs being mandated by the team/sponsors
@lauranbeijens5918

@@bilwit I know it's lighter but Jumbo thought the stiffness and aerodynamics of the oltre compansated the extra weight.
@bilwit

@@lauranbeijens5918 No Jumbo only used rim brakes on theirs, so that offset the weight penalty of the Oltre. A disc Oltre is not salvageable in terms of weight, so Bike Exchange uses the Specialissima for these stages.

I’m enjoying the bike so far ru-vid.comUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

@@tonajensen2209 there are builds here on youtube of the Emonda and Teammachine weighing below 6.8 kg in larger frames, both being disc brake builds. The Ultimate CFR can be brought down to 6.3 kg with discs, I'm sure Bianchi can put a Specialissima build at 6.8 with no problem. Same way it's impossible for Van Aert's S5 to come in at 8.1 kg when Van Der Poel's Aeroad is 7.3 kg.

without other measurement i would say yes. But what are your leg length ? your torso ? etc... 54cm looks big, im 1m71 too, i have a 53cm bike measur between seat tube to center stem cap) but i have a short stem of 90mm. I like it because the position is not to agressive for long ride. If you are a racer, then you may want an aero position, 52 or 51cm (like Yates) offers you more agressive position. If you just ride for pleasure, fit your bike for confort
