I believe some of them knew, especially the coaches who were gymnasts and Nasser was the doctor. I can bet all of the 2006 gymnasts were his victims. I know all of 2012 Olympians were and 2016 except Hernandez who was physically abused by her coach who they sued. Sad, isn’t it.
Perverts have a way of making their victims feel like what they are doing is normal. I’m a former teacher and foster parent. When a child tells you about abuse or tries to hide it, don’t let it go. Investigate and ask questions. If you ignore them you’re enabling the perpetrator. The consequences are lifetime of devastation and d mistrust. 🥺

So glad to see SB compete again and pray she does well! LOVE her. Like my father, she was adopted at a young age. Having grown up in a broken family myself and having been a volunteer court advocate for 4 foster kids and 9 other at risk kids, it's an inspiration to see her achievements, as well as her fortitude dealing with not only her mental health challenges also but publicly advocating for mental health.
Without a doubt she is phenomenal. She is setting a bar so high the up and coming gymnasts, both male and female, have a level to aim for and try to surpass. This will not only lift the competition to a much higher level it will make them innovative and this is good for the sport. I pray that she be around for a few more years to delight us with her own innovation. Yes, you are a GOAT.
I have a respect for this phenomenonal American WOMAN that exists beyond her gymnastic skills: intelligence, integrity, compassion, and courage. These qualities are special to Simone, but she is a role model for all girls, young women and adults. The world needs more heroes!

The Arena in Paris, where she will perform for the Games, is less than 1 mile from my place. I used to live in the US and have been following her career for years. But…I won’t be able to attend her performances, because the tickets are freaking expensive! Between 500 and several thousand euros

She won the trails all events at the National Championships the Core classic and 5 medals last October at the Worlds 4 golds and 1 silver including a gold on the Balance Beam!!!
She is not even close to Lavinia Milosovici and Nadia Comaneci. They have scored perfect tens multiple times. Not to mention the graceful, elegant, and feminine moves.......you will never see any of that in Simone. Very sad!
Apples to oranges....everything was different 50 years ago, including scoring. Simone is an innovator, who pushes the old boundaries. I loved Nadia too, but it's a new era & Simone keeps it moving forward.
