Today on offensive breakdown, I break down NFL schemes that get covered by the likes of QB School and Brett Kollmann. That’s right, the spread offensive breakdown is seen in NFL offenses and are covered by the QB School and Brett Kollmann
Not NFL Offense, But brett kollmann breaks down NFL game film and offensives. This QB School like offensive breakdown goes deep into the NFL spread concepts and how high school football can use NFL style plays covered by brett kollmann and QB School

Coach McKie do you know where I can find some info on west coast offense?

Coach McKie when u and ur staff converted the wing t offense to the spread air raid, what was the first play u guys installed?
@andrewclarke3044

The Coach. the air raid is the "spread Version" of the west coast offense, but much simpler. Check out winwiththepass.com. Great resource for the air raid. You could still run a 2 back, single back huddle ball control west coast offense. But keep it simple. 4-6 dropbacks. 2-4 quicks 4-6 runs a couple bootlegs and screens. U don't need 1000 plays. It's better to run a couple of plays out of multiple formations. Instead of the other way around.

Coach O'Neal, First run play we installed was our Inside Zone. The first pass play was our 3 man snag.

The Coach, Coach Clarke gave a great suggestion down below. I would also check out Coach Ryan's RU-vid channel ru-vid.com/show-UCnaTt9niiPRyLo-xXz3qtPA

Hi coach McKie, I´m a football coach, writer and sports broadcaster in Mexico, I wrote a book about RPO, it called "RPO: La evolución ofensiva" (RPO: The offensive evolution). I want to say your work is inspired me and thanks for sharing your ideas about modern football.

+Coach Azuara Coach Azuara, Thank you for the kind words. It means a lot to me. And thank you fur watching my video and leaving a comment. How popular is American football beginning in Mexico? I know it won't touch futbol, but do you think it will get close?
@CoachAzuara

Hi coach, in Mexico we have a long tradition of football, the first organizated game was in 1897 and college football started in 1934 in the National University of Mexico, we have leagues of children, youth, high scholl and College football. I´m coaching a team of teenagers (15-16) and we practice modern football. In my playook we have concepts like a Air Raid, Quick Pass, Zone Offense, RPO and no huddle offense.

I'm not a player or coach. I'm an author trying to see how well spread offense would fit into my character's playbook. The strategy I envision relates to chess. The rook corresponds to the WR. As in your playbook his job is to go deep. The tight ends correspond to a combination of bishop and knight. They run diagonal. The queen is the tailback and maybe the fullback. She can move anywhere quickly. He who controls the center four squares wins. The easiest way to control the center four squares is to con the opposition out of those squares. A skilled player uses his rooks, queen, and knights for that. It also means surprise. It means calling plays the opposition does not expect. With that in mind, in my novel idea, the previous coach was a three yards and a cloud of dust thinker. He never, ever used passing plays. The opposition knows this and keys accordingly. With this in mind, at the end of every play the opposite side of the field TE and WR leave the field after every play. So does the tailback. The lineman/pawns immediately take their positions almost ready for the new play, but turned to the QB. The WR remaining runs to become the far side WR. Fresh players come in. The fresh TE informs new far end WR using sign language what the play is. The QB uses sign language to inform the line what the play is. Just like in Military close order silent drill, when the soldier hands the Sargent his rifle, the center hands him his helmet. He signs B for Blast, C for Counter, D for Draw, T for Trap, O for Off Tackle, R for reverse, S for Slant, W Sweep, or V for Veer. If the QB holds the Center's helmet to the Center's left, it is a pass play, to the right a running play. Likewise, the play goes to the direction in whose hand the QB returns the helmet with. How many fingers he holds the ball with is the count, sort of. The cadence is by silent count. Left Guard is player one, Right, player two, Left tackle, player three, Right tackle player four. When the designated player points to a defensive player with his left hand, middle finger out, the center hikes the ball. If a defender looks like he might go offside, all players pull their hands down, the designated player for the count raises his and the play begins. Could this scheme actually work?

Have you ever experimented with making your screen pass packages option passes with one side running the 6 and the other side running the screen? I used to send the awayside receivers deep and gave the QB the option of throwing deep if it was an easy 6. We faced mostly man coverage with a free safety and man with robber, and most of the zone coverage was 3-deep out of a 4-2-5 or triple stack defense. When the pass coverage saw one side running 6, the defenders never saw the screen action on the other side and sometimes ran themselves out of the play.

I'll run 2 dropbacks passes, 2 quick Passes, or 1 Dropback and 1 quick. Ex. Spread Rt curl/Flat Rt and smash Lt. I have a cover 3/4 Beater to one side and a cover 2 Beater to one side.

Good stuff, coach. We're a System (Tony Franklin) team, but I'm always looking for more info like this on the spread. Looking for the link to the one-back Power RPO ebook. Can't seem to find it on your site. Thanks!

Good content. If the defense is in that formation, I’m having L block the C & throwing a quick screen to F as he’s moving to the sideline. Assuming L can block well & F has wheels.

Coach do you think you could add Tunnel screen to Y Cross? My thought is throw Tunnel to the Z instead of him running DIG. Not sure if that would give enough time to the Y to get across. Thoughts?
@CoachMcKie
@CoachMcKie 6 лет назад
Coach Lindberg, I think you can throw the slow screen to the running back off of Y Cross. I know Noel Mazzone has done that a couple of times. He will have his quarterback either throw the Crossing route or the slow screen. I've seen film of it and it is freaking nasty.

Air raid offense can be beaten through blitz schemes like anything defense always wins it's almost the same thing as don't coryell and his san Diego circus. We're dealing with nfl with blitz package compared that with college football don't. Look at what happened to s.f gorty miners vs Giants and got beating by defense the niners we're running the west coast offense we're dealing with two different levels of football in college u don't see too often blitzes in nfl u do why do u think Washington State or Texas tech never wins national title
