You are the best! Thank you for this explanation. I saw the single bin. I think that they are awesome, but I live in a small apartment and want to keep them indoors. This is the best explanation I've gotten so far. And it makes sense. I've seen youtubers filling up both bins. That seems messy and sort of defeats the purpose - castings in one bin and worms in the top bin.

Thanks, I just got mine and it had 3 round coconut coir things and I didn’t know if I should mix all 3 with the baggie of shredded paper or not. Your bottom bin seems a lot mor full than mine so I’ll go ahead and add the rest of the coconut coir and water. Hmmm, I’ll need more water than they said, then. The instructions weren’t that clear.

you didnt mention the best by product which is worm tea,which does wonders when added to house plants or gardens

In the instructions from Hot frog they say to add food to upper tray on day two ? I haven't seen any worms up there feeding everytime lift lid but you're saying to add food to tray with bedding and worms eh ?

Hello! Thankyou so much for that!!! I inherited my box already full but she had food in top and bottom. I took castings and some worms and mixed it in with soil for repotting plants. I need to add more worm bedding. I assume this can be leaves, cut up cardboard, lint, etc??

How does this get air flow??

Is the putpose casting or worms? I bought this kit to have lots of worms not casting...

If I understand your explanation correctly, what do you do with food scraps during the starvation period? Do you need two of these systems so that you can alternate?
