This is a life saver video. I have been watching you since you were featured in PowerDrift's Bullet Standard 500 video. I keep this as a reference for tuning carburetor. Cannot thank you enough. I gave my bike for service and as usual the Guys messed up my bike. So not happy. Anyways the spark plug s were due for change. Ditched the old spark plug, installed new ones, tuned it as per your video and voila, the bike was back to butter smooth. Thanks a ton.. I have recommended this video to my friends who always thought tuning carburetor is rocket science.
Thank you so much brother. After following your video and by tunning the way you instructed, my classic started giving milage of 34Km/PL in city! Really impressive!! It was earlier 23-24. After changing to custom exhaust which ruined performance of my classic. So reverted back after month to stock. I highly recommend if you love your classic Don't use Custom Exhaust. Exact point I found for my classic 350 is at 4th Turn. Where RPM was also high stable and Smooth. Nither lean mixture nor rich I guess on 4 turn it was perfect for me. What i found about RE Service they open it upto 5 or 5.5 turns which consume lot of fuel which is unnecessary. Happy Riding.😇🙏
Thank you for your untiring service to motorcycling community. I was able to get a colder carburettor and surprisingly could see droplets of water seeping through the exhaust after following your precise instructions. Couldn't believe it was possible on an air cooled engine like the RE.
Sir..I owned Classic 350 Gunmetal Grey. Before servicing my bike used to give me mileage of 37-38 kms. After servicing the mileage dropped to 32-33 kms. After watching your video, I tuned my carburetor and now my bike is giving me 38 kms and tons of thanks for this. However, I seem to notice my bike is slightly sluggish than it used to be. Does richer/leaner mixture effect pick up? Could this be that I have not reached the optimum tuning..?
Yes bro , if you want power turn it 5 to 6 times minimum 😂 I don't care about mileage all I care is pickup I opened it to 7 turns and getting 24 kmpl but absolutely stunning performance
I get the maximum rpm at 5 full turns, at 3 the carburetor gets cold & I struggle to start it,it takes more time to drop to idle after accelerating, can you please suggest me what to do ?
But here you didnt mentioned anything about the fuel setting. As tuning means making the right combination of air-fuel mixture, it is also important to know how to set that parameter too...
Sir i have follow your settings on my classic 350 and the mileage has also improved now it is giving me more than 40 kmpl but one thing sometimes not usual every day in the morning when i kick start my bike it give a ptka sound misfire sound why it is coming sir

now you will have to fiddle around with it towards 4...if nothing works then you may have to check your jets and spark plug also. If spark plugs are wrong or gone then also you will have this issue.
Dear Chinmay, Have been watching your videoes since long and have strong interest on them. With your guidance I have tuned my 2016, BS3 Classic 350, trust me it couldn't have been better, I have water droplets flowing from the exhaust every morning. My machine is a complete stock has no modifications and have gone through a strict running in period. My thanks to you for the initiative to help the amature like me to understand and take risk of DIY. My request to you for a video on possibility to run UCE without battery. Thank you again Dada!!
i don't recommend AC integration in DC system. voltages vary a lot during no battery pack. unless the Electronics is supportive to control DC up to the mark. thanks for feedback. and thanks for appreciation videos. stay home stay safe.
Sorry for giving comment lately.. as i used this a month back, but was too busy in some work.. anyways Just want to tell you this video is amazing.. this thing no body have ever told in there video (3 full turns) as no body reads user manual :) . my earlier average was 29-30 max n now my enfild average is 40kmph. Thanks to u bro. This is my 2nd comment i am giving in your video. Hello Chinmay, Hope you're doing well! I'm having a new Bajaj Pulsar 220 BS4 model 2017, with just previous first paid service i made complaint about the cylinder head leakage for oil, and the service centre guys make this issue resolved, but after this i found a very bad performance with the bike, startup trouble, engine turn off in traffic. When i checked the spark plugs, both are completely black on their electrodes! Later i went through with this vlog, and thanks to you with two weeks of monitoring and tuning i achieved the two major aspects of fine tuned carburettor which you've shared i.e. bottom of the carburettor should be cold and the smoke feels the humidity in exhaust. But i have a little trouble here which is, at optimum acceleration i'm getting good performance from this Machine, but whenever I pulls the throttle, instead of quickly responding, bike pushes down like it is not getting prompt fuel mixture to perform!(Exactly the same feel when your bike got into reserved fuel state while riding) Or might be there is something else I'm not getting? Could you please suggest me what could be the issue with this situation? The AFR screw is set to 2 and half anticlockwise setting. Thanks to you again.

I've been watching your video for sometime and find it very useful thanks for your informative display which is practicable even for me.ive been experiencing slight wobble/shake from front side when it crosses 40/45 km/ph,when riding in straight but normal when in curves or bend road.RE medhanic checked all possible factors like wheel bearing, centre bush,rear wheel bearing front fork stability and front disc no fault was detected even realign the front tyre from puncture repair shop.problem still persist,please aap suggestions dijiye

Thanks for the best info till date on tuning. Sir, while checking for RPM drop between 2.5 and 3.5, clockwise and opposite, is it better to hear the sound or also follow the RPM meter (mine is BS3 TB350)? I found better avg with 3 setting and carburettor feels cool but wondering if it is optimum. Please advise.
Hello Chinmay just came through your video on carburetor tuning, could you also make a video on efi tuning and maintenance for enfield 500 classic. Heard from a few sources that its not advisable to buy a enfield efi. If so then why and if not then I'm ok. Planning on buying a 500 used 10k kms on the odo. you can't tune the EFI bike..unless you have data logger for that. since the bike is equipped with ECM/ECU/ its own computer you need digital tuner for that. Maintenance issues are there but not that much what others have boasted the matter. Will surely try to make video on this matter. thanks for suggestion.

I already changed new chain sprocket set,spark plug,air filter, mobil filter & fully synthetic engine oil. So at that moment, should I change Clutch plates ?
2010 - means 70yr old humanbody. And don't expect marathon from such oldies. You must consider wear and tear of engine internal components rather than only outer. Thanks.
Great advice sir. Is there anyway I rectify the play in my crank shaft? Is the bearing damaged? if so , do I have to replace all the crank shaft bearings?
yes....that video will be uploaded very soon. then you will get an idea. if the crank bearing is gone then replacement is the only one option. if you hear grinding kind of sound from crank at any RPM then consider bearings are gone. Thanks.
Thank you sir. Awaiting the video. I have been experiencing knocking sound while applying throttle, and when the RH cover and cam wheels removed I noticed a play in the crank shaft(couple of mm when forced by hand on all direction). Could it be the wearing down of the bearing? This play in the shaft is leading to back lash, as the exhaust cam sleeve is not able to be adjusted. Apologies for my ignorance on the subject.

Hello, I have watched this video and subscribed to your channel as well. Just wanted to know what will be the setting for a free flow silencer ? How many turns ?
Thanks Hank, well with free flow or without free flow turns are in between 2.5 to 3 full turns but provided you have done jetting and so you have added free flow filter. Otherwise bike will run unbalanced. Basically jets are more important which makes the AFR ratio balanced. If you use stock jet with stock filter with free flow silencer then bike will run lean no matter what carb setting is.

Excellent video sir, i have these settings on my carb. The bike refuses to cross 80 km speed is that something that can be fixed or its a UCE limitation. Thank you.
