You could have used Biscuits to secure the timber strong jointed, then make an MDF cross lay it and put the cut timber pieces around it , mark where the biscuits can go and number the timber pieces to correspond when clamping them up , that is the PROFESSIONAL way....Regards from Ray in the UK
I've made something very similar. On several pieces I added a little shelf (scrap from the pallet I cut), in the top left hand & right bottom corners. GREAT for a little "sit-on"
