Inspired by my talking with the Dad vs Son channel I thought to do a Dad vs Son series. My son has an interest in history and in particular the Roman period. What better why to introduce him into "proper" wargames than the Great Battles of History series. Using the "simple" version of the system to get his feet wet...

Thanks for this intro. Recently I gave up on core GBoH, although I really like the map and counters I'm not a big fan of the actual ruleset. If feels like you have too much control over your battlelines. At the same time, I've discovered a joy of gridded minis gaming that I've converted to a board game, with homemade minis. Currently playing Strength & Honor and To the Strongest will be coming next... Still, looking forward to the simple GBoH ruleset and see if it improves things for me😁

Thanks for watching. Currently rereading the ruleset ready to go through the Bagradas Plains battle. Control seriously diminishes once battle is joined and the lines begin to break up. In this ruleset units do NOT recover Troop Quality hits. There is also no individual unit activations, its all in formations. Hope you enjoy the series…
