it can use for detecting rotation of a motor.

Thank you for this video. I am learning a lot from, not only the circuit theory but the creative way you use it. Just one question, it looks like the hall effects sensors are arranged such the they are blocking each other. I would think they would have to be side by side rather than one in front of the other. Maybe it doesnt matter since it it's a magnetic field we are talking about.
@0033mer
@0033mer 5 лет назад
Yes .. the magnetic field is not affected by having the the two sensors back to back. In this arrangement the back to front sensing is symmetrical.

This would have been cooler if you had tested some metal plates in place of the hall effect sensor. Like say copper and aluminum foil, silicon in different doped states. Either way great video, thanks for the upload

Great video. Will this Hall Effect sensor detect an electromagnet from a further distance away? I assume this magnet is of a low Gauss. So an electromagnet with a higher Gauss should work at a further distance, right?
@0033mer
@0033mer 6 лет назад
Yes .. basically the stronger the magnet ( higher Gauss ) the greater the distance of detection which follows the inverse square law.

will it be able to switch with just metal as well? or only with magnets?

hi sir, if i want to use 12v input, what resistor or anything i have to add to the circuit?
@0033mer
@0033mer 5 лет назад
The easiest solution would be to use a 78L05 voltage regulator to convert the 12 volts to 5 volts. It is a 3 terminal device (TO92) and easy to use. solarbotics.com/product/17160/

Had you tried to change/reverse the dual-sensor orientation to see to what degree sensitivity is increased or decreased? Thx.
@0033mer
@0033mer 6 лет назад
If you reverse both sensors the sensitivity will be about the same and first sensor will now only respond to a North pole magnet The sensors are designed to sense on the front face but an opposite pole magnet will cause an output if exposed to the back side.

How fast can it work?

A few variables involved. Strength of magnetic field and distance parameters of your setup. Check out this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9wyeogsahag.html

Yes .. instead of driving an LED you could replace it with a Piezo beeper.

@@0033mer I think I am going to try building one of these to help out people with vision impairments to be able to participate more independently in rock climbing! Hopefully my novice self can figure it out. I will be replaying this video about a million times. Thank you for the video!
