“Fixin” up a blown out house in fallout 4 the simple way with dlc settlement building structures from far harbor and contraptions dlc also using some simple tricks to help aid on the way
Here's a trick for rebuilding this house. It also works exactly the same for Tenpines Bluff and Murkwater. You are basically going to build an entire house and pick the whole thing up and drop it into the existing shell. Using the barn set place three regular floor pieces on the ground with 3 half floor half floor pieces along the long edge. You'll have a 3x1.5 base. Next put barn walls along the front and back with a door in the middle of the side that will face the road. Then put one wall on each end of the floor base and a half wall to sort of fill the gap. Finally place barn floors in the same pattern as the base floor for a roof. Remove the lantern on the floor. When you are done with that pick up the entire structure highlighting the middle floor piece and put it inside the shell. No rug or pillar glitches needed. You'll have to play with angles a bit to get it aligned but it fits pretty snugly in the shell. If you did it correctly you will have a door in the front (facing the road) and you can build an upper story. I usually build a larger room on the second floor for more room. You can put a door on the side and use a 1/4 floor piece in front of the second story door to which you can attach a stairs. I hope the instructions are clear. It's easier to see than explain but it works on all three houses in County Crossing, Tenpines bluff and Murkwater. Although in Murkwater the ground floor doesn't line up with the entryway too well but you can get in.
I appreciate the instructions they sound promising, however I’m playing on a game console without any mods at all, the lantern on the floor can’t be moved or scrapped without mods on so I’m sort of s out of luck getting the floor built up nicely. Good news!! I was able to use your building plan and the only different thing I had to do was remove one floor panel on the bottom where the lantern is then I was able to fidget in 2 half floor boards in place of the one full floor board and it clipped through the lantern I didn’t have to use the mat trick or anything the new building fit right into the old place. Thanks for showing me an alternative. I appreciate it. 🙂 ps I did use 2 full walls instead of 1 and a half on the sides of the building because I just didn’t like how the half wall looked so the wall is partially protruding but I’m ok with it
@@Rook_Lone_Dragon Hey, glad to hear it worked. I'm not sure what mods I have installed that would let me move/scrap that lantern unless it's the UFO4P mod. That's just bug fixes and I'm not using any other mods that I would have thought affected object placement. I love fixing up the old buildings. My favorites are Croup Manor and Echo Lake lumber mill in Far Harbor. Both involve a lot of glitching and very precise placement but you can fix the roofs and walls in both building to look pretty good. In a wasteland kinda way. Happy building.
Hey thanks for commenting again,yeah I’m not sure which mods change the objects you can scrap or not I guess I’m basic because my favorite places to build are Abernathy farm, I like croup manor too, king port lighthouse,Taffington boathouse,Kingsport lighthouse and starlight drive in.all for different reasons egret tours marina isn’t bad but it’s sooooo glitchy and sometimes breaks your playthrough and the nuka world red rocket isn’t bad either. Dima’s memory quests killed the far harbor dlc for me. Those quests got me so frustrated I stay clear from far harbor most times now. I’m glad you like those settlements though. I know they have potential I’m just not ready for them builds yet lol anyway thanks for commenting again I always appreciate it. 🙂

It is a bit difficult to rebuild structures in fallout 4, but it’s also kind of rewarding once you learn how to build the areas up and create better settlements for the npcs and followers. After learning the basics and a few tricks it becomes really fun. Hopefully my video helps you through your play-through. Thanks for commenting on my video I always appreciate it. 👍
There are windows you can build in your settlements but most of them are part of the vault-tec dlc.other dlcs give u windows too, but most of them are already broken.
I’m glad to help. I know the tricks,like rebuilding structures,are all finicky and goofy but it’s fun in my opinion regardless of the amount of Bethesda jank.
