With corded power equipment like this, I usually just do a quick overhand knot between the male and female ends before connecting them up. Any tension on the cord then pulls the joint closer together. No cable ties or other strain relief needed.

While doing construction we would only use the overhand loop knot, as the standard overhead wears out the wire at the connection ends. The loop allows you to pull other cords/tools without kinking the wire.

I know the market is always changing for the electric power stations, but I was wondering what you've found to be the best all around power station to date? Something that would be a good single power station to have for single family home, in case of an emergency, to power things like a heater or two in winter for maybe 24 hours, or some fans in the summer, and especially some phones. Costco has the EcoFlow for sale, but you haven't mentioned that in over a year so I'm not sure if that technology is considered old by today's standards.

Got a cold the dust didn't help. I only thought about that after I was done. I did lower my mower but didn't lower it to 1in. I think I'm ok since a couple spots the blade cut the ground up. Enjoy your channel. Yep, low mowing and early spring dethatching is definitely the way to go. But - whether you have a rider or pushmower - I have found a FAR easier method of doing this in a large lawn. Previously, I've rented a gas-powered, walk-behind dethatcher (similar but much more powerful to what you are using here) - but this is also VERY time consuming. Later I had a pull-behind dethatcher with tines that I put concrete blocks on and pulled with my riding mower - also very time consuming, cumbersome, hard to turn, and the weight makes it wearing on the mower engine / transmission if you have significant hills. So, a FAR easier / much better method: Google and buy Arnold universal dethatching blades for riding mower. My rider uses two of them - you just swap them out with the mower blades. This allows you to simply ride your mower as if you were cutting the lawn and it does an absolutely incredible dethatching job! Once mounted, test the height so you don't get more than the thatch layer. Also, there will be a few inches in between the dethatching blades, so you'll just have to make sure you shift your dethatching pattern to cover that gap (easy to do!). Again, you can put one of these bladed on a push mower and it works just a good. These blades save a TON of time and aggravation, vs. the other methods. After completing the dethatch job, just remount your mowing blades and vacuum up all the thatch. One key to keeping thatch under control is don't let it build to the point that it becomes a much harder job - stay on top of it Note: When you remove your mowing blades, it's a great time to sharpen them - I do it quickly with an angle grinder while wearing heavy gloves and eye protection. If you have Zoysia turf, like many in the Southeast or mid-Atlantic states do, then you need to dethatch every year, as Zoysia is particularly prone to thatch build-up. Sometimes, if your spring and summer is exceptionally wet (as it feeds the thatch), you might consider dethatching a second time in late summer.

After watching a few videos last year about the benefits of dethatching, I bought a SunJoe dethatcher last spring. Darn thing didnt even make it through one use in my Bermuda lawn. Bermuda lawns have long runners that get wrapped around the axel of a dethatcher and actually started to cause the plastic gears in mine to melt. I live on about 1/4 acre in Oklahoma - and on parts of my lawn that are Zoysia or Fescue, it worked well. Would not recommend if you have a Bermuda lawn.

Definitely after. The level material will be soft and will get torn up some. So its best to wait until dethatching is over. I have a lot of leveling to do here and will be showing some updated videos on that also.

They do work some, and for a giant area its better than not doing. But if you have 1.5 acres or less I would use a finer unit like this style They just pull out so much more stuff. I used to do my old house in sections and it made it easier on me.

Can you seed the lawn right after dethatching?

I noticed in this video you used Andersons 24-0-11, but their new lawn starter is 20-27-5...should the latter only be used if seeding in the spring? Not sure which one to use after de-thatching my lawn.

Generally yes, in the old days phosphorous was in every bag but now thats not the case. So if you had some you could use it but if buying new and for good practice you skip the phosphorous (27) you mentioned unless you are seeding.

How’s your gr2120 holding up? I love mine but I have to rebuild my front axle this spring.

That's a good question. *when* it's working it's nice. But honestly every time I got to use it, something is wrong. First the throttle level kept going loose. Tons of issue with bagger clogging that I finally worked out and belts coming off for no reason. Its such a solid machine but feels like owning an italian sportscar. You race it all day and fix it all night but like you I do like it but I wish it would settle down a bit
