Dear child, bless you You are doing great job here...I am 61 year old citizen of Mumbai India, follow you and feel relaxed after doing all exercises you had shown in this video. ..big thank you dear child ... GBU..
Wow! I learned 2 new gentle stretches: hamstring stretch and palms on lower back. I do a LOT of sitting for work & the last 3 years & after hitting 60 I’ve noticed that my body isn’t able to cooe with being sedentary. Thankfully I was very active in sports & my muscles are remembering and reacting very positively & my lower back pain is responding well to these stretches coupled with back muscle toning exercises. Thank you for putting this video together.
Thank you, my back was really hurting and it was not improving on pain from when the pain began for over a week. Half way into the stretches I could feel the tension in my back release noticeably. Now I can make it to my job/hobby with a much more positive attitude. I will pull you up and do these stretches daily. Again thanks so much 🙏
The standing and seated exercises are helpful, thanks. I tripped over the other week and sprained both hands, hurt both knees. So I can't get down on the floor (or more precisely, up off it again!) to do the floor exercises. Have been looking for something seated or standing...
Thanks, Mike. Had a lot of pain yesterday especially in the neck. I was cleaning for hours and obviously, my posture wasn't correct. This won't stop me from exercising. Have a nice day.
These are good exercises for the lower back. Can it not be done on the bed instead of on the floor? will try on the bed tomorrow. Thanks Mike and God Bless you for all the videos that keep us seniors in good shape and health!!
This Exercise was exactly what I needed tonight. The plants are small and I can tell it’s an older video, but it was exactly what I needed and helped a lot. Thank you again, Mike. Don’t know what I do without you! OK
Just to say it's an excellent routine. A couple of things. Tell older people they should do it all slowly. When they are standing their knees should be slightly bent. When sitting trying to touch their toes they should no lean on their knees. Health and safety is important especially for older people. They break easily and recovery is long. Otherwise, well done.
Very thankful I came across this video and your app. Being older, having health issues and trying to lose weight and regain some agility and strength don't seem to blend well ..lol but the latter are very needed. Did the stretches and will continue; as I can tell they will be very beneficial. Will be cking out more of your videos as well. Thanks for the time spent to help those of us in need! God Bless!
back gave up 01jul excruciating pain, checked couple videos, got to yours, its very good, need good back stretch and core exercise, its time to stop being lazy and get to reinforce core/back, how long should I follow this regime and what is next exercises to keep fit
Hey Mike, excellent video. A suggestion: in your video editing, perhaps you can use some 'arrows' to point / highlight the areas that you are focusing on (especially when you are holding in a position) so that we can get a better idea what exactly are working on. Thanks.
Hi Mike. Love your excersises, I do periferal newopathy. Once a day. I need urgently excersises for osteoporosis. I'm over 80. Could I also please have your excersise book. Many thanks, and gratitude
Hi Mike, don't know what I am doing wrong. When I do Standing Lumbar extension , shoulders move up and there is pressure on my neck. Thanks so much for making us seniors move:)
Sorry I cannot do hardly any of these as I have no chair and I cannot get onto the floor and get up again. I can sit on the bed though I guess. And yes I live alone with no help from anyone. Neighbours and family don't care if I live or die. Exercises for me I guess start at 9:23 as I cannot cross my legs. Impossible for me.. Thanks though. I am glad you were able to help others.
Just started on your exercises. Very clear instructions. Feel I needed to start stretching my back etc. having been suffering with sciatica and back pain for 8 years. They feel good. Can I do every day or is that overkill?
That is great to hear Sue. I always recommend listening to your body, so another alternative is mixing this up with other stretching videos on my youtube channel. Keep up your great work and I look forward to hearing how you go!
I am looking to improve my back muscles & balance. I can feel I need to start doing something now before it gets to be a serious issue. I signed up for the news letter as well.
Great to hear you're doing what it takes and you're signed up to the newsletter.. If you are having trouble with this exercise video (as it's on the floor), you can check out the other back exercise videos. You can find them here: morelifehealth.com/misc-exercise-videos
Thank you for all your chair exercises...I do them everyday. What I was wondering is if you can do something for inner thighs? I have an ache that I believe its lack of strength. Any suggestions? 😊
Get the whole area stronger Delia. Stronger glutes, stronger quads, hamstrings, adductors, calves, core. The lot. You'll find when the whole area is stronger you won 't be getting this issue. Bridges, Hip extensions, abductions, Squats, sit to stands, calf raises etc.
@@MoreLifeHealth mike...which exercises do you suggest, but please, from the chair. I can't get up from floor. I'm weak in legs and back. I looked at your videos but I am not sure which one to do...thank you! You've already done so much for me.
Hey Delia. I recommend seeing a Physiotherapist in person to help out, also make sure to check with your doctor/physio before doing any of the exercises. You can try the seated hip exercises along with the other chair exercises you are doing: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ROwj2dNcL6c.html . Can you do any standing exercises? If so partial squats are a great exercise to start with.
@@MoreLifeHealth thank you so much...I am seeing a physical therapist and pain management and they both agree with you about strengthening my core and back as it all ties together. I will try the standing exercises, too.
I have had piriformis syndrome quite severe for at least 30 years. I came to the point where I was going to request a steroid shot, but it's not just a simple shot as the piriformis is so deep. The exercises for that used to help, but they don't anymore. I now have arthritis in my tailbone and pretty intense pain from that. Sometimes it's hard to tell which one is hurting more. I sit a lot for my work and my posture needs improvement. Just doing these exercises along with you I could feel that it is hitting all the right spots!! I feel these two problems are closely related and just doing exercises for one is the reason why I'm not benefitting. Hoping I'm right, I'll be doing this video every day for 30 days. Hoping for the best!!
@@MoreLifeHealth I'm happy to report that after 13 days of doing these exercises my low back is so much better!! That sharp pain I was getting is gone now, but I'm sure that if I stop the exercises it will return. I would imagine that when a person sits for long periods of time, the vertebrae kind of collapse into each other from gravity pulling them down. I feel the most benefit from the exercises that stretch the spine a bit. Thanks for your video! I love your website too!
Yes it certainly is - there is a small button on the bottom right of the video 'cc' this will give you the option to take the subtitles off. Let me know how you go!
Hi Mike This is my first visit here and really enjoyed the video. I was wondering though if you have any exercises for tight hip joints? I think it was Exercise 6: Glute Medius stretch - 30 seconds each side that I tried to do and failed as I wasnt able to get my ankle over the other knee and stretch forward. My hip joint felt too tight. :(
Hi Mike Ive been doing some of your exercises for seniors as Im a 52 year old woman with fibromyalgia and can no longer exercise hard. I have extremely stiff muscles throughout my body, my back being particularly bad. I also need to hugely stregnthen my core. Do you think Im doing the right thing by following your workouts?
Hey Leanne, Yes I understand. Which is why I created a seated lower back exercise video - for this very reason. Here it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XTEfL12pli8.html . ... Hope that helps! :)
I suffer from hernias that are torturing my lower back, so i don't want to go too hard with things that could end up injuring me. Do you think these light exercises will work for me?
Best to check with your doctor first. The 10 minute seated core exercises and the seated back exercises may be used in place of this one. They're lighter exercises. Make sure to never push into any pain in the area when doing the exercises.
Hi Mike! I suffer with sciatica pain in my left leg and by avoiding wrong kind of movements for a while my lower back has weakened a lot. Now I have two problems instead of one. Which of these exercises you will recommend to persevere and not to trigger sciatica but at the same time to strengthen the lower back?
More older people like me has a tire around their mid section. I am on a Whole Food Plaint base diet. Can't get to a gym because of work and now stuck at home because of this virus. What exercises can you recommend? Thanks!
Hi Gladina, you don't want to be putting any pressure around the pacemaker site. You can trial them and check comfort/pain levels and if it is putting any pressure there, discontinue the exercises. Also good idea to check with his doctor before hand! :) And you can do the seated back exercises I created for people who have trouble with these ones :)
Hey Noreen.. I understand. :) Which is why I also created a back exercises video, seated in a chair after this one. You can check this out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XTEfL12pli8.html I also have plenty of chair exercises on my channel which will help!
After watching the first back exercise on the floor, I can tell you this: you need about 40 years on you to tell yourself that “Hey, maybe I should include the part of the regimen where getting BACK UP again is not possible…”
Thought this for seniors...I cannot get on floor...well, I could, but I would not get back up without help. My knees are shot. I need exercise that can be done from a chair or standing.
Hey Sheryl. They are for seniors and I understand :) :) Which is why I also created a back exercises video, seated in a chair after this one. You can check this out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XTEfL12pli8.html
A couple of your exercises have been prescribed to be by a physical therapist for muscle strengthening after surgery on my artificial hip, IT band lengthening and a trochanteric bursectomy. I have several other exercises also specifically for this hip. However, there has never been any mention to me by my surgeon or therapist regarding the lower back muscles which support the movement of the hip and I also have problems with the snapping of tendons or muscles in the groin area with one of my exercises, raising my leg straight up, with the knee bent, towards the ceiling to a 90 degree angle with the body. Based on this snapping and a couple other symptoms I've read about, this sounds like Hip Impingement to me. Also, my pelvic bone is tilted with the left side higher than the right which seems to me like the left leg is longer than the right. I know the X-ray sure looks strange When I walk, I have pain in the lower back and left buttock an my left knee tends to snap backwards in sort of a locked position. My therapy sessions are ended and I am on strictly at home therapy now. Any input?
Hi Carol, you have a fair bit going on and there are most probably strength and movement asymmetries between legs, with also core weakness.. The exercise videos will help but I also suggest getting this all worked out by a good PT in person!
Hey Manijeh. I understand. Which is why I created a video for the back in the seated position for this reason. Here it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XTEfL12pli8.html
I have narrowing of the spinal and neck issues I can't get down on the floor and if I did I wouldn't be able to get up off the floor lol so this doesn't help me any
Hey Cynde, I can understand, many seniors have difficult getting up off the floor. Which is why I created this video also: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XTEfL12pli8.html Hope that helps
