This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I met my wife and married her when we were very young. We were also very young parents, and in the beginning I struggled trying to find a job to pay for us all. I got into a plumbing apprenticeship by the grace of God when we needed it most, and this is one of the anthems of my life. I just wanted a humble and stable life, and make sure we'd all be ok. I'm now 48 with 27 and 23 year old sons that have grown into incredible, smart, talented young men. I credit my wife for a lot of it, but I'm happy that I could be there to help when I could.
Love your comment. We also married young and struggled to make ends meet. 38 years later, 4 children 37-27 and 5 grandchildren. I hear this song from a mother's perspective of what I want for my three sons. My favorite Skynyrd song for sure.
We were out about 70 feet from the stage that night. Stapleton had played first and then KOL blew the crowd away with their music. Then Chris Stapleton came out and they did this. There were wet eyes everywhere. The sound was phenomenal......
I got to hear this live, before the plane crash.....I was 15 years old, and received two tickets for my birthday....they have been (Skynyrd) my favorite band ever since.
In my heart and soul... I hear a kind of Ronnie Van Zant ringing in my ears to Chris Stapleton ❣️❣️❣️❣️... Just my humble opinion Canadian crazy 🇨🇦🇮🇹😻❤️
Really...? Cover Hustler......... GET some Music knowledge. "Tennessee Whiskey"....? RIP George Jones. AND....He dont know the words to 1 of the Greatest Southern Rock songs of ALL time. (Hes READING) ......
@@70centurian Noticed that he was reading the lyrics too. Not taking anything away from CS's talent - he's amazing but Ronnie Van Zant and Lynyrd Skynyrd paved the way for so many.
Simple Man could quite possibly be the most emotional song that strikes that emotional cord the 10,000 th time you hear it as if were the first . A masterpiece of a song . Lynard version off ONE MORE FROM THE ROAD can't be matched but so many bands have done it incredibly well , this version is one of those . Enjoyed it immensely
@@michaelhaile6371 I get the same feeling with Tuesday’s Gone. Kinda the same type of ballad. They build you up, give you goosebumps, bring you down then build you up again. Then more goosebumps. They were one awesome band. Can’t go wrong with 3 incredible lead guitar players. Big part of my youth. A case of beer some left handers and Skynyrd cranked!
I don't throw praises around unless I mean it. Kings Of Leon, you are worthy. Chris Stapleton, again, worthy. Thank you all for a phenomenal cover of a classic Lynyrd Skynyrd song. Thanks for keeping their music alive, and spreading the words of love through Ronnie's lyrics for today's generation. The world needs this song more than ever.✌️💙
Wow Caleb's voice is a perfect fit with this song! I wouldn't have immediately thought of him as blending well with this genre, but that's a huge oversight because he fits perfectly!
I’m in heaven listening to this song with KOL & Chris Stapleton. Love both! Wow! I’ve always loved this song & to stumble upon this incredible song just made my night.
Omgness! I love this version. This song was sung by a friend at funeral for my best friend that took his own life. It's very rare I can even listen to this song, but this one cover was so great. I cried through the whole song!!
Kol and Chris singing simple man would surely cure world aggression.. this has to be the definition of how we should live our lives. Forget all the shit.. if we live by this.. our earth will be such a good place.
The daytime concerts are only on weekends and holidays. Just like here, most shows are at night… ‘cept the shrooms are way better are wicked available.
By covers you mean copy note by note and not make it his own at all, listen to Etta James then listen to Tennessee Whiskey again, nothing original by Chris just a note for note cover (rip off)
Skynyrd is no longer a band it has transcended into a timeless entity that manifests itself when the planets align and there are worthy musicians that come together to act as its avatar.
You're so right. Ronnie was a phenomenal songwriter just fantastic. Sometimes all he needed was a few bars if that from one of the boys and he was off writing a classic. Sorely missed
My cousin was a rock n roll angel. This song was played when they carried him to the cemetery. Soulshine by Government Mule was played at the beginning. No better home going. Love you , Scott❤️
Especially when he started playing lynyrd skynrd music

Whenever i see footage of concerts in USA I always notice that the crowds are very lame. Maybe because you guys have so many shows… come to Portugal or Spain… crowds are crazy!
Why? You could replace him with like 4 other country guys that do the same thing he does and no one would notice. There's nothing at all special or unique about chris Stapleton, he is the epitome of blah.
Thanks for uploading this great video and performance. There only a few audios earlier here, now we can see and listen with high quality this two high quality voices.
My hair stood on end instantly when the intro started. I love this song and I would really love to have one of the Chris Stapleton signature series tweed amps from the Fender custom shop. And I’ve been a Skynyrd fan since the beginning and this video reminds me how much I love music. Thank you so much for this video 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Just passed the 1 year anniversary of my mothers un-expected passing . I saw Chris Stapleton live yesterday. This shows back up in my feed on YT. It was meant to be . Chills .
I went to school with the members of kings of Leon they were older and I can remember them very very clearly to this day man they turned out to be right
No matter how hard things are in your life, everything feels better when you find a good cover of Simple Man. Or if you just decide to listen to the original.
Think how about how long this song has been around.& the age Ronnie was when pinned the lyrics.this song,Ronnie & Lynyrd Skynyrd have stood the true test of time.
@@Shaun.OBrien that never wrote any down if the band could play exactly like he heard it he remembered every song.& sang every song from memory.never wrote anything down. I find that very amazing.that he was able to do that.
