Here is a short tutorial how to operate your marionette. While watching our video, you will learn the basic movements as walking, lifting arms, waving, sitting your marionette down or bending it over. Enjoy!
Great video! (I'm interested in the design of marionette controllers). If you know other ways for me to get more information about the technical aspects of performing with a marionette please let me know!
I'm happy to see this, it helps. We have a Fanny marionette from Czech Marionettes, but don't know how to control her using the vertical system. It doesn't have a removable arm controller. Will you make a video for that controller too, please? Thanks!
How does the head turn while the shoulders stay in place? I'm looking at the gestures made to turn the head, and if I'm seeing correctly where the strings align, it LOOKS as though the shoulders should be turning right along with the head (or at least shift from side to side). I guess I'll have to buy one of your fine ANY kits one of these days to see for myself, huh? ;) lol
All the weight is normaly hanged on the head. Once you want to turn the head you have to lean the operational device to front so you move the hanging wieght on to shoulders. Thus turning head is possible only once you lean the head down a bit. This rule applies to all marionettes on strings (not the once using wire into head). You can get our online course where it is all explained.. www.czechmarionettes.com/en/detail/621-become-a-puppeteer-video-course Petr
