As a Scrum Master you should know how to use agile metrics in such a way that will help the team to continuous improve. In this video I share some advice on how to choose the right metrics for your team and how to use them afterwards.
Each team is different, each situation is different, so should be the agile metrics you use, whether it is a Scrum team or a Kanban team.

I think it may be important to measure how accurate their Estimation is for a story. Velocity/Capacity = Commitment is shows reliability and efficiency and effectiveness in a team.

Because we work in a complex environment, there are a lot of factors that would impact our work, that is why expecting accurate estimates is unrealistic. Of course, we want to have as much consistency as possible, but it shouldn't be the goal and if wouldn't tell us anything about the team's performance anyway. I hope that helps

Absolutely correct very well explained, thank you so much I hope managers and management should not use these metrics as KPI's which they actually do.

Thanks. The background music is there to really hide the background noise :) I did keep it quite low in terms of volume. But I have a completely new set up now with a new microphone which means better audio and no need for background music.

I am Scrum Master to new team, I want to show team the advantages of all the ceremonies and their right in Scrum Team do you have any suggestions

Snehitha Kavuri From my experience, it's good to introduce all the ceremonies, at the same time they should not feel bogged down by too many meetings. I would say start by assessing the committed Vs completed stories. Also it would be a good way to teach about story estimations. And in the upcoming sprints take the average of the first three sprints.

Keep it simple - explain what each Sprint Event is there for, the purpose, then suggest a clear agenda and adapt from there. Don't focus too much on practices and techniques that you might want to use at the beginning. If you see the need to implement a certain practice (e.g. planning poker to help your team plan), then try it out and ask what your team thinks about it.

no metrics mentioned which I was looking for. But long video talks everything except actual metrics.

@nadranaj, number of defects, % of work not completed every sprint, predictability. Also in the introduction I clearly said that instead of focusing on the metrics themselves, I want to talk about how to choose good metrics.

I kept waiting for you to talk about metrics people use and how they help them. But video just keeps spinning around how metrics are useful bla bla bla .. sounds like a school presentation.

Not sure what exactly you were looking for, but I give several examples of metrics in the video and explain how they can help teams. In addition, I explain how to choose the right metrics. "bla bla bla" is not the kind of feedback that can help me improve, so I'll ignore that. If you are looking for more details on agile metrics, I have a whole section on my website about it with specific examples. But once again - there is no one-size-fits-all solution here, and you would need to do some homework of your own to be successful.

I think this comment is rude and unfortunate. The comment could have been better phrased. Imagine giving such feedback to a team member...you would have failed. However, I would like to add that I was looking forward to metrics one can use for an agile team and exactly what they are good for. I didnt see much of that. But I guess I will check the references provided. Thanks
