Saw Simple Minds for the 1st time in Manchester in April WOW WOW WOW They absolutely smashed it for 2hrs and Jim Kerrs voice was INCREDIBLE..!! EVeryone in the Manchester Arena was bouncing even up in the Heavens..!! Brilliant Night 🎉

I was never that into them in the 80’s but they were a background soundtrack to my life, like many bands from that time I’m rediscovering them. For this set I found a seat and just sat to chill with my kid before Green Day and although I knew all the songs, it was almost like hearing them for the first time

Yes I wasn’t sure what to expect, it’s always a gamble with older bands some are great and others are just getting another payday. This festival wasn’t my perfect line up, I like the pet shop boys but they aren’t really stadium shakers for me but I suppose you couldn’t not give them a headliner slot
