Welcome to my channel. I'm trying to present "real" travel information without the clickbait - you know the holidays us regular guys get rather that the "insta" experiences that need a film crew and exclusive access to actually get. No getting up at 6am to get a selfie for me !
Loved your Frantic Four clip….went to the Glasgow gigs which were amazing…felt quite emotional hearing Junior’s Wailing with Alan on lead vocals again…Quo did re-record it with Rick taking the lead which was also brilliant….but fair play to Rick Jr keeping the flame alive….I personally can’t accept the latest version of Quo without Rick….I think it’s a travesty….I know a lot of fans don’t agree…but that’s just my opinion…Thanks for a great vlog, Kenny
@@kjm5155 hi Kenny, not seen them since before Covid but was at Milton Keynes in 84 for the “final” show, am thinking of seeing them in Halifax this year as I genuinely believe it may be the last and if they are crap I love the support - The Alarm so it won’t be a bad night
I remember my eldest seeing it live at a tribute gig when she was 9 and watching a normally quiet kid bouncing around as she heard it for the first time - she was the same age as I was when it came out. Just a fun song
Oh ye God's Rick, is this the same Band you played with year's ago because you guy's have really upped your game! This is a spectacular rendition of a song your Dad really liked..... loved!! In truth I personally hated 'Rockin all over the World', but to me your Dad could do no wrong and although the original single was ***t, you have done this track real justice. ..well done you all.... special praise to your outstanding powerhouse drummer....OMG!!!!
I really enjoyed RPJ’s set at Isle of Wight he played loads of standards and smashed some of them - Nirvana, GnR, Bon Jovi - he’s just a fun band to watch and it was great in such a venue as the IOW festival
in about 68 they used to practice in a hall that belonged to the oxford and bermondsey club in pages walk , every thursday we used to sneak in the back of the club and see them practice , a free quo concert every thursday what else could a boy need
I love that green day do this for their fans. It must be such an incredible memory for whoever they invite up on stage. I've seen them a few times and theres been some amazing moments like at the o2 arena when they invited this disabled lady on stage to play guitar and then she got to keep it at the end. In San Diego I was right next to the person that got pulled up on stage.
I really enjoyed this set and it was great to see him him do one of his Dads songs, plus my 16yr old daughter didn’t hate it which is high praise indeed- what’s your musical guilty pleasure ?
@@TravelAdventuresWithIanMelton we have seen them many times since 1998, I think its 5 times in the past 2 years alone!! If you do go to see them again try to catch them on tour .. the arena gigs are something else, especially brixton or ally pally .. they tend to be extra special !!
that’s pretty impressive, 5 times in 2 years, there’s a few bands I’ve seen that regularly but they aren’t major, on my budget the big bands are one offs.
@@mikedonn71 I’ve not come across them much but I’ve just watched a couple of their videos - they look fun so they may become popular in my part of the Uk. My favourite band is The Alarm, I believe they did Ok in your part of the world
@@TravelAdventuresWithIanMelton nah. Sorry. Singer gone, band done. Imo. Imless they create all mew material. I cherish the good old Wipe Out PS 1 days tho’.
I've seen them multiple times in the past... I miss them so much. I miss Keith's vibe. This opening looks sick man. Hope u enjoyed the show. Greetings from Greece
Its grainy footage but get a look at them from the in the park in scotland 1995 , that's the first time I seen them , it was bloody wild haha I even nearly got crushed to bits coz I went crowd surfing and I ended up elbow dropping the grass coz folk missed me when I went flying back the way, what a buzz hahaha❤
@@ianmelton6137 hahaha youre bang on the button there, they played again the next year coz they enjoyed it that much but couldn't headline it again , they were on earlier but it was equally as nuts .
@@chrisjolly78 my genre is more punk and rock but they definitely have the right mix of chaos and sound, add a banging light show and what’s not to like
@@ianmelton6137 i used to listen to punk music when I was wee guy, I seen rancid in glasgow barrowlands about 20 years ago, that was mental aswell ,- tripping out ma dick in the mosh pit hshshaha
Saw Simple Minds for the 1st time in Manchester in April WOW WOW WOW They absolutely smashed it for 2hrs and Jim Kerrs voice was INCREDIBLE..!! EVeryone in the Manchester Arena was bouncing even up in the Heavens..!! Brilliant Night 🎉
I was never that into them in the 80’s but they were a background soundtrack to my life, like many bands from that time I’m rediscovering them. For this set I found a seat and just sat to chill with my kid before Green Day and although I knew all the songs, it was almost like hearing them for the first time
I have mixed feelings about phones and gigs - intimate performances I’d say no or not to lift it high enough to obstruct anyone but open air festivals - selfie stick and go for it 🤣 let’s face it it’s a cheaper souvenir than a £50 t shirt. I don’t go mad but judging by the views I wish I had 🤦
Waterfront Love Song Once Upon a Time Someone Somewhere in Summertime Glittering Prize Promised You a Miracle Sanctify Yourself New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84) (Followed by Cherisse Osei drum solo) Don't You (Forget About Me) Alive and Kicking
Thanks for the comment, I’ve always liked them but not a mega fan so I had mixed thoughts about what to expect - I really enjoyed the set as did my 16yr old who was expecting another one of “dads old bands”
