@@ashleybarker937 I gathered all the info, took the timming of each song and put it all out there as a service🤗. I didn´t mean to left anyone out🤷♂By the way...Who is Gordie? 🤔
Took me awhile understanding his style of playing as I was learning guitar back then. And then I got it… it’s “ambience and sounds” and not “series of chords”. ❤️
I suspect that his skills, like those of The Hedge, are strictly limited to what he needs to play his band's songs. But that's still pretty impressive.
First time viewing Simple Minds. I'm captivated by their professional ism, gratitude to fans, coordinated skills, qualitative enthusiasm. Could not be more impressed. BAV
I was a teenager in the 1980s. We were spoilt with the amount of great bands who were only slightly older than us but who managed to create amazing music and build careers that have spanned our lifetimes, and I've seen them all live, some many times. SImple Minds, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Talk Talk, I loved them all. I love bands that evolve and create new music rather than just playing the nostalgic hits. Simple Minds is beautiful story of longevity, Jim and Charlie are true legends. Mention too of Sarah Brown (I saw her on backing vocals with Duran Duran in the 80's before Jim poached her!), she's awesome!
Thats it ! - they were about our age ! - I am stunned at what people were creating who were 19 years old - listen to Fear Of Gods - they must have been 19 and the technology was brand new - mind blowing - Simple Minds, OMD, Gary Numan - how did they even know how to use synthesisers - I was still struggling with Cefax !! I still go to see those bands at every chance - the elixir of youth - we are all still young !! xxxx
@@bridgetwatts7838 They had Mick MacNeil, best keyboard player of all times - and with him they lost their soul in 1989. But the music lives forever. NGD is still my favourite album
❤ Jim Charlie and all musicians for this incredible gig! And thanks to Arte for sending it live to all of us! The Sound is amazing and setlist just unbelievable! Hearing complete New Gold Dream album is a blessing for old fans such as myself!!!
IT IS A GREAT IDEA TO HAVE THE LIVE COMMENTS.... NEVER WILL YOU HAVE A NEGATIVE ONE. YOU HAVE BLESSED OUR WORLD WITH YOUR MUSIC, AND YOU ARE DEFINITELY THE "BEST BAND IN THE WORLD!"
I'm 72 Simple Minds are my favourite band since the 80s.. I've got all their music on Vinyl/ CD/Video plus Books..T-shirts...my favourite album is Once Upon a Time....💙
Thanks for sharing. I'm glad they're still performing and I find the discussion about the line-up and setlist irrelevant. I can't wait for the next tour.
I saw them two days later at Arènes de Nîmes, although with a different setlist and it was Amazing. Big up for everyone involved. Great songs, great crowd and a fantastic venue. Jim and Charlie are still fantastic, they have aged like good wine. And so smart and elegant to add female stars to the band, the drummer is fantastic - and the vocals at Book of Brilliant things blew me away. Thanks!
Guys you are great! A stunning performance. Also Sarah Brown is as brillant as the song. Whenever I have the chance to see you live will take tht opportunity.
Long life to you my friends.
Genial
Simple Minds ! ( 1st 12 " Vinyl I bought was LOVE SONG Then Every 12" and Album Their Music and Lyrics Spoke to my Soul I was a dj during those times and years after They Never - Disappointed on The Dance Floor ! I Look to Seeing Simple Minds in Vancouver BC ...and Hope I can do a little Crowd Surfing ...like the Good Ol Days ! BIG Thnx To All The Members of SM Past and Present ! Cheers !

I attempted to learn the drums, back in 2005, but a back injury and warnings from landlords put an end to it. I LOVE that there is a female drummer here! AWESOME! :D Mad respect. :) Also, as I grow older, I'm starting to appreciate these chill shows. Thanks so much for sharing!
