@@JoopVeenis That’s great. I’m waiting for ankle surgery at the moment otherwise I would have met up with you. Glasgow has changed so much since Simple Minds formed. The Toryglen area of Glasgow is unrecognisable from the ‘80’s. I think you should go see the famous Barrowland Ballroom. You won’t get inside but you’ll be able to see outside the venue. It has a brilliant neon sign outside. This is where Simple Minds filmed the Waterfront video in November’83. (I was there. I still have the ticket). Very close to this is Barrowland Park. It has a wonderful piece of art. It has a walkway that lists all the bands that has performed at Barrowlands. Not far from there (5 minute walk) is The River Clyde. Once again a feature in the Waterfront video. There is a walkway that will take you all the way down to the biggest venue in the city. The Hydro. (From the distance it looks like a flying saucer with it’s tilted roof). There are great places to eat and drink. Merchant City area that’s not far from the Barrowlands has a great amount of pubs and places to eat. If you want to shop, Buchanan Street which leads up to The Royal Concert Hall & Buchanan Galleries is really good. Hope this helps. Have a great time. 🏴
Incredible. Took me back to 1983. What a year! Depeche Mode, Heaven 17.. U2 and this from Simple Minds... What a time that was to be alive. It 'sparkles in the rain' of the days we live now. Or as Sylvian once wrote - 'I'm drowning in my nostalgia'... Awesome. Speed Your Love to Me. What a title... it goes to my head, again, and again....
This is the one I was waiting for and it hasn't disappointed! That blast of sound at 1.23 combined with the colour change and the camera movement is amazing! Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!
I am floored ! I knew already that this song is insanely good, but this dreamy version with the video just kills it. Stunning and goosebumps all the way through !
Nice outro on this excellent song from Sparkle In The Rain, full of energy, a robust cacophony of clattering drums, a sinewy melody and impassioned vocals.
@@williamhastie5056 no I'm just naturally articulate and have a reasonably functioning brain. More importantly, I love Simple Minds. That's all that matters.
@@faddy24 Nice one. I’m from Glasgow. I’ve been lucky enough to meet the band a few times over the years. Signing events in Virgin & HMV. I’ve been really lucky to see them loads of times over the years. Almost 20 times in total. First time in ‘82 at Tiffany’s in Glasgow. 4 nights in a row at Barrowlands in ‘84. This guy does a tremendous job with their work. Have a good one 👍😬🏴
I couldn’t sleep a wink last night!! 😊 Many thanks for posting this one! As you know this is the one I’ve been waiting for, and the wait was worth it! Very nice job 👍🏻
Amazing remix and video. Downhill skateboarding is the feeling 👍 But we need to give a shout out to Steve Lilly white to bring this out of Simple Minds at the time.
Going to see them in Dublin Ireland in a week in the 3 Arena there my favorite band of all time other bands have come and gone but Simple Minds are still my favourite
Wow what an introduction! Kick start my heart! ❤ This is the best extended mix I've heard of this song. Thankyou again for another brilliant mix! 👏 Fun fact: the introduction from the extended version of this song (and the clip) has been shown on Rage (Australian music TV show) since it began in 1987.
Nice ! Loving the echoed drums and ethereal vibe... kirsty maccoll's background vocals at 4:17 deserve a minute long of the 110Berlin treatment! Also nice outro of a wee bit of what sounds like shake off the ghosts...which i then promptly listening to your ambient version lol.
