Thank you for your excellent examples and tutorials. Grandparents here trying to figure out how to assist the Grands with Schoology, a new approach to learning.

So glad this was helpful! Kuddos to you for taking on the mantle of helping the grand kids with distance learning. Grandparents are precious!

Would you make a video on “What Does Teaching Small Virtual Reading Groups Looks Like”?

Hello, I love how you made your page! I am new to schoology and was wondering how you got your page to look like that? I made my bitmoji classroom already but am not sure how to get it on my Schoology account.
@melicety
@melicety 3 года назад
Hello Karen! I used it the same way I put the buttons on the page. I am not making my Bitmoji classroom clickable though. You would need to do that by setting it up in Google Slides and embedding the link into Schoology.

Thank you for the tutorial. My students are on an iPad. If a link takes them outside Schoology, e.g. to RU-vid or Microsoft Stream, do you think there's an easy way to help them navigate back to Schoology?
@melicety
@melicety 3 года назад
Maybe have them open any other sites in a new browser window and teach them how to get back to Schoology.

I like the way you organized your classroom! Are you an LAUSD teacher? I am :)

Can you explain how grading is set up with multiple subjects (ELA, math, science, etc.) in your one course?
@melicety
@melicety 2 года назад
In our district we just use Homeroom in elementary. In upper grades (4-6), and jr. high and high school we have a grading app called PowerSchool that automatically transfers grades from Schoology to PowerSchool.

Can I embed Seesaw assignments in Schoology--students have never used schoology and are familar with seesaw
@melicety
@melicety 3 года назад
I have not tried as we do not use Seesaw. There are a few people in my K-6 FB group who have said they have done this. If you are in the group, you could ask them what their process was.

You seem to have one page. My district has a page for each subject. Any tips on organizing and where to place important, non subject matter information?
@melicety
@melicety 3 года назад
blessed We have several courses but just set up in Homeroom. If you are using all courses I would link the buttons to assignments in each course and set up buttons that either link back to Homeroom or onto the next assignment/next course.

How are you initially sharing the Schoology link for parents?
@melicety
@melicety 3 года назад
The parents login from our district website. I also send an email out with the link.

I’m used to google classroom but I’m asked to used Schoology, can I link google classroom inside Schoology?
@melicety
@melicety 3 года назад
I would just use Schoology. It would be easier to house everything in one place. You might be able to link to Google Classroom if you set a button to link to it.

How did you add the buttons to the different websites in your "website section"?

I did not see you go back to your HFW, fluency, etc links. Can you please show and explain these please?
@melicety
@melicety 3 года назад
Sure! I have them linked to different assignments I have set up for independent practice in Schoology. Students can go to these folders to work on HFW, fluency passages, etc.
@davaswafford3283

@@melicety I would love to see how they are set up. That is what I have to work on. I need a way to set up my weekly fluency, nonsense, and word list so I am not sending them home in paper form.
@melicety
@melicety 3 года назад
@@davaswafford3283 I have them in pdf files so they can use the viewer (magnifying glass) and then flip through them kind of like flashcards.
