Thankyou i always enjoy your tinkering, always interesting and you make your thoughts known. No you didnt waste any time really, it was entertainment that you kindly recorded so we could have our guesses and get it wrong ha ha 😀 I didnt see the spring coming. When you said you were going to open the psu, i thought dead output capacitor..... dam i was wrong. Usually it's such a regular common fault of psu's, i jumped before thinking. Or did you mislead me to create confusion.... hmm lol. I liked the simplicity of the phones charge circuit, current limiting metered by that resistor and trannys. Sometimes its nice to see basic circuits, no beasty chip to go bad. Yes i watch Alex northbridge as well, a very nice bloke that doesnt mind giving away his methods. (much like you). I also watch Radio cruncher graham on the week end live stream. Watching Sorin repair things is always interesting, a clever man. And for car diagnostics its ivan at pine hollow diagnostics, a really great bloke. Ok ill shut up lol.
One of my pansonic cordless phone screen says”use rechargeable battery” what does it mean? You see I took it out of tge base not knowing it it not good to do that because it drains the battery. So i put it back on the base and it started charging. It is now fully charge but it still gives me the same message. Can you help?
Thanks for the videos, I found you through your Furuno 585 repair video. I am attempting to repair mine and appear to have the same damaged track as you had. In the process of disassembly I have damaged the socket that the ribbon from the screen goes into, are you able to help me ID this part or would you be able to do a video on how to id components and source them. I have been looking around the net for ages and I can find the ribbon (Ribbon Cable SUMITOMO-M AWM 2896 80C VW-1 Flexible FFC cable Ribbon Cable0), but don't know how to search for the appropriate socket. Thanks again for the videos you probably have no idea how much these can help every day people. And its great seeing stuff repaired instead of just binned and buying a new one.
Sorry, I would just know it as a FFC connector or FFC zif socket, I would have to do research and look at parts suppliers and compare dimensions to decide what would be a suitable fit. Try mouse, rs components etc, worst case ali express. Good luck!

Registering a handset to the base unit 1 Handset: MENU 2 MENU: “Handset Setup” - press OK 3 MENU: “Register H.set” - OK 4 Base unit: Press and hold button for about 5 seconds. (No registration tone) If all registered handsets start ringing, press button again to stop The next step must be completed within 90 seconds. 5 Handset: Wait until “Enter Base PIN” is displayed. a Enter the base unit PIN (default: “0000”). - OK If you forget your PIN, contact an authorised service centre. When the handset has been registered successfully, the antenna icon stops flashing.
Hi! I have a problem with the same phone When I take it out of the charger, it completely shuts down and when I put it down it says it is fully charged. Can you help?
@@irishguy200007 I guess I would have to see it to know for sure but if the phone line connects to the base and it's not a satellite unit like the one in this video then it's possibly converting AC from the phone line to retain some functionality if the power goes off.
@@JonnyFix Once power goes off it stops working. Could it be converting the ring tone for the microcontroler?. What I can never understand is why they never added rechargeable batteries in the base for the possibility of a power outage in the first place. If they can add rechargeable batteries in the handset then why not in the base unit.
