I learned how to use and make one of these from a friend who went to Kara at wilderness ways (Mors survival school). Besides his video, yours is the only one that I’ve seen on RU-vid that CORRECTLY shows how to make this frame. Good job. So many RU-vid “instructors” have no idea what they are doing or don’t do any research. It looks like you have!
Nice. It would be handy to see what it is you're going to make at the start of the video (and what it's for, why you'd use it), rather than having to wait until the end. Especially someone quite clueless like me. Thanks for the great vids!
I went to Karamat last year and that is the way they taught it. Kelly even showed away to make the frame with withies and hand broken sticks. He's an incredibly skilled woodsman and a hell of a nice guy too.
Great video. Would you mind doing a more detailed video? I couldn't tell how the mylar blanket was attached to the poncho and then to the poncho. Thanks
Cracking project, definitely another one to do with my son, will the mors scarfs be in the shop soon?, good health and safe travels my friend, blessed be,Craig
Wow!! Way cool. I've seen the Roycroft pack frame before but never the soft, silky thing you used for the shoulder straps. What was/is that stuff?? and Where might I find some?? Thanks so much for sharing.... nicely done. Best wishes.... Ax
I would love to have one of the "scarfs", but as I recall they are pure or almost pure silk. They must be a little pricy!! Can you tell me what you charge for one and what the postage might be?? I live in Stockton, California, USA. Your videos are terrific. Keep up the good work. Best wishes..... Ax
They are £30 ( plus postage). The fabric is parachute nylon. Not sure when the next batch will be ready, so keep an eye on the shop as they sell very fast.
I build a similar one for hessian sack backpack project, to go to the Provins medieval festival problem is, once if built the frame, I had no idea how to attach the sack to it - and I still don't. But well, it's sturdy alright, two years old and still gathering dust in the basement
Nice project,,thank you, i did it similar, yours is very nice. I use rubberbands oder rubberstrings zu attach the gear on the frame , for carrying straps i took old straps from a surplus store, czech oder austrian...made of leather...fits very well... your eagle owl spoon is great!!!! what kind of wood you use for this nice eating tool?
