I think hand like A5s also make sense to try protect after checking and get some value and then they made trips so they keep betting. 65s and 54s also might be in there some of the time.

Yeah, I agree with you... A5s, 99, 44, 55, 54s, 67s are all crushing and probably c-b-b-b. Why even bother sticking around in a small pot post-flop?

I think check raising flop is a better option. At least you will know where you stand pretty quickly. Make it double plus what you would continue on the turn with. If they raise you can just fold, if they flat you are more than likely behind. If they're bluffing, you take the pot there and then.

What I didn’t hear mentioned was that this board smashes the buttons range and depending on the bet size, should influence how often you call or fold.

Respectfully disagree with doing this at low stakes. In general since this board hits the villains range you should just be check folding. While this is passive, you just save more money long term at low stakes in this spot. If you’re not going to c-bet this bet, with the thought that they will stab…you should be re-raising 100% of the time of time for simplification. If they fold you win. If they call you can put them on their exact range, they are 100% capped. On turn if you hit a king or ace you can try to play a small check call spot until showdown. If you miss you just check fold.

The casino's here in south Florida have a high hand jackpot every 30 minutes which most people who flip a set with pocket 9s or 4s wouldn't be the flop fearing you fold and they lose out on $500 high hand jackpot. So really the person who bets out in three streets would literally have nothing or the very worse ace nine suited. That would be the only hand that may do this besides a bluff.

The key point is, the number of bluff combinations on a bad/poorly coordinated board far exceeds the number of hands so good that they never check back to control pot size. They're representing a top 1% hand, whereas in this situation, a bad reg is 10-20x more likely to have a bluff that your bluff catcher hand can beat than the 1% hand they're representing.

Well ! I had ace& king & raised 21 dollars in 1/2 game and a bad player called ! The flop came king,4 ,9 and he raised to 25 dollars and raised him to 125 dollars then he goes all in about 250 dollars & I called and he showed 4 & 7 off suit but the he hit another 4 in turn to make a trips ..all I lost about 400 dollars in this hand ..u never know .

when doing multitable, i find it hard to keep a check on if a table is still "good" and recreational. should we just do 1-2 tables vs 4+ ?

I'm so confused. He starts out by saying we're talking about low stakes games at the beginning. Then at the end, he says this is an advanced play that should only be used in higher stakes games, and you don't want to be calling someone down on all 3 streets in a low stakes game.

Simple Trick to Catch Them Bluffing.... Be a sheriff. When you call their big bet on the river and they show you J9 for most of your stack it was not a bad call it was just bad luck.

You never told us our position with AK. From early position, this is a terrible C bet board. The only good hands we have are over pairs and 99, where btn has all sets, A9S, down to maybe 97S, plus good draws like A2 and A3 suited with a back door. We can only credibly C bet this flop from CO or HJ. With nut no pair, a bluff catcher, we have no reason to bet. All hands worse will fold, all hands better, even 66 won't fold. I'm prob calling from btn with 22 here for at least one street. Second, AQ and AJ are terrible bluffs, as initial raiser is never folding an over pair or 99, so btn is betting specificly hoping we have exactly AK. Also, wheel draws, especially with backdoor flush draws are clear bets for btn, as are hands like 87S and 76S. In short, on this flop, btn has more made hands and way more draws than us. Such a bad spot for AK. From early and most mid positions, this is an easy check and maybe call, once kinda hand.

Dude, I think you should be adding bet sizing , pot sizes and effective stacks along with positions & any history between particular players. Are you just learning-as-you-go? No offence but I used to see this incomplete HH stuff a bunch in the early/mid 2000s when potential horses would attempt getting staked after they go on their first rush of upside poker with a sample size of luckboxing 1 in 5 tournies or nitting up an OMC table for 10 hours over 5 sessions. If this indeed is the case , I would certainly be sure to let your viewers know that you are learning-as-you-go because you miss _A LOT_ of stuff... not being as specific as possible doesnt really work to optimize your learning potential when discussing hand strat. Why you are even attempting to make it _even more difficult_ to make money in the "poker community" can be reasonably argued as well Poker training sites = BAD 3RD party online poker programs (HUDs, real time solvers etc) = BAD 🤷‍♂
