Interesting comment on propane heat. I have a big 10k btu catalytic heater my dad gave me from 1970. Works fine in spring tent, army canvas tent, yurts, 2 cabins and our house when power down. NEVER suffered from CO poisoning or lack of oxygen. I also have a newer Colmen Sport Cat heater I use in my truck. I leave it on all night and have never experienced problems from using it. Now, all the modern day brain engineers and rocket surgions are afraid and use a CO2 monitor, so I got one to check. It has never gone off. But to each their own. Have fun traveling. Cheers
I have since convinced my wife that a propane heater is safe. I have a carbon monoxide detector and slightly crack the window and I stay night and warm all night.
Just started truck camping 2 months ago i sleep with the buddy heater no problem window cracked.question is what is gonna keep us cool during summer i need help lol
nice setup bro. ive been on the hunt for a camper shell on my 05 silverado for a while now on CL. everyone wants dang near retail price for an old one.
I want to do a camping Cot as well, rather than a build, but how did you make the cot fit up against the side? Isnt the wheel well in the way of that center leg support of the cot?
Seems it would have been smarter to buy a camper shell 6 inches taller than the cab height one you bought & would:ve still looked good, while making a huge difference in the amount of headroom you had to move around, but I guess a guy who buys an black truck for camping (a sweltering inferno & constantly dirty) speaks volumes on how he's much more interested in looks than function & practicality.
