You raise cattle, not grow them, hahahaha! You do great shopping. I make everything from scratch. I make my own sausage. Got a huge turkey for 1.19 a pound, 20 pounds. I will thaw out and grind it up to make my own ground turkey, I will cook separate one breast, get a tone of broth from it and several soups. I bright a bread machine at a thrift store new in box never opened for 8.00. So, make my own bread. I also sometimes make six loaves at a time which will be rolls. hamburger, hot dog, each counting as a loaf that's with a mixer. Tomato soup and all soup I make way cheaper. Lot of work but it is just me and my husband.
Well, you would think I would use the right term considering my Dad raised cattle & hogs😂. I also make my own cleaning products and toothpaste. You are right, it is more work but I am starting to think all these chemicals are killing us! Thanks for your great ideas.❤
Make your own teriyaki and cocktail sauces… much healthier and less expensive. I’ve also been buying a lot of items at dollar tree… sponges dish soap shampoo conditioner… pickles jam(no high fructose)…that rice you can get the same thing for 1.25 at DT. Buy bread at HEB .98 cents a loaf. You have bought all processed foods..besides the fruit and veggies, you bought nothing but processed foods.
Today-Tuesday I decided to head to the store to pick up some blueberries for 99 cents. I decided to look at my app and I had a coupon for $2 off products. I’m glad I decided to double check my app before checking out. I then went back to get more products. While I was shopping I did check the more downs, I wished I had actually picked up some cereal for a dollar something. I had no clue that cereal was apart of the B5S5 sale or I would’ve gotten it my first time. After I was done shopping that when I found out about the cereal. When I found out that it was apart of the sale I quickly went and picked up a cheap sale item. Between the 2 transactions I spent more than I should’ve. I could have went without a few items. I saw that the Liquid IV was apart of the sale and the Fair Life milk is as well which I’ve been wanting to try it. Over all I spent around 100 dollars. My first transaction I saved over 50 dollars. During my second transaction I forgot that cheez its is on sale which I couldn’t pass up on.
I love your cabinets, so gorgeous. That pork roast clearance deal was fantastic! With the exception of produce and canned goods, I don't buy anything now unless it's on sale, preferably a BOGO/coupon/Ibotta rebate trifecta deal. Now that my nest is empty, I don't buy sliced sandwich bread even if it's on sale. If you keep bread in the fridge during warmer weather it will last for a month and doesn't change the texture to any degree like freezing does.
Thats a great tip on thr bread! I will try it. Honestly, if I had to I could get by on $60 a week and who knows, someday I might have to because life is unpredictable. People don’t realize that being “cheap” is a skill. Your channel looks like its foing great and growing!
Yes, with all the uncertainty in the world right now, we all need to practice frugal skills, and do some stockpiling on basics at least. Thanks for the encouraging words on my channel growth! It's slow, but I'm not focused on that per se, although it's wonderful and a blessing to say it's growing at any pace, lol. It seems the younger gals with families at home have better growth, but not much we can do about that except be happy for them. I started my channel to participate more fully in the frugal/homelife community. It's a time-sucking hobby but I enjoy it! 😊 Have a fantastic weekend!@@crazycheapchick
It’s Friday today. I went to Aldi Wednesday to see what’s new for Aldi. I was hoping for some cabbage on sale. Though the corn-beef is on sale there, I’m not sure the pricing for it at Aldi. Anyways I prefer getting them at Kroger because of the seasoning it comes with. I didn’t check my mailbox until Friday night which I stopped in at Kroger on the way home. I did pick up my cornbeef for St. Patrick’s day. I was bummed that the cabbage wasn’t on sale at Kroger either. I got home and looked at my mail. You wouldn’t believe what seller ad I got in the mail. I had two ads for Hyvee. I should’ve checked it sooner so I could check at Hyvee. I look around for the cheapest meat items which I shop for meat. The one I pick looked like a good one. I don’t prefer meat with a lot of fat. Bacon is even cheaper at Hyvee even through the digital coupon is at Kroger. I’m fine with the price I paid at Kroger for my point. 7 something instead of my first one I found which was 8.02. I did find a 6 something but the whole back side was all fat.
I looked at the preview sale ad for Kroger and the brisket roast is still on sale. I was worried if the cabbage would be on sale which it is. Now to double check which location had the cheapest Kroger or Aldi. As I was searching the ad, I saw my toilet paper is a certain price which isn’t my stock up price, however, if I have a $2 off coupon I may get it for that price. I’ll need to double check if it’s on the B5S5.
I use my Kroger coupons & best customer deals alot - sometimes it will pick up two coupons for the same item. Especially if it's on clearance! This is where I purchase my meats most weeks and definitely the bakery & general items clearance racks. Produce I'll only get with clearance prices if it's something I'll be using within then next two days. Very picky about produce. Kroger is the main stores in my town, but also will use bank's market for specialty items that Kroger don't carry. Aldi's is a ripoff in my opinion, poor produce (won't last more than 2 days), not good quality on the meats and no consistency of products (warehouse feel) and I don't appreciate having to use a quarter to get my cart - I don't carry change & many times it won't return my quarter! 🤬
