Today at the farmhouse on the homestead.Budo has a trip to see a man about some trees and we have a lovely surprise for you all.
Also we have a clear up outside and have a visit to our potager to show you what we have a done it's a SURPRISE and we start the floor in the farmhouse kitchen.

Follow our journey renovating an abandoned ancient old farmhouse we bought and creating a off grid homestead by being self-sufficient growing our own food and creating an orchid for fruit, managing our own fire wood with our two woodlands to give us free heating and hot water and making every thing we need in our renovation like the doors, windows, floors, staircases, Kitchen, panelling, bathroom, porch, and many more projects as I'm a Carpenter & Joiner using my skills to build this dream which you can see in lots of our videos we have all ready loaded up on our channel and also we will be sharing our crafts and also Tracy will be doing all the soft furnishings in our farm house on our homestead. Hi Wayne its just the materials but it shouldn't break 7k as i have 99% of the materials here just got to cut the work tops out of the chestnut logs then send them of to the drier buddy 🍺🤠👍🏻

The area you tidied up and revealed the drainage channel in the floor appears to be an old milking parlor for cows. Interesting, very common in rural US farmsteads. The channel in the floor is to muck it out after milking is finished. May be wrong,but my first thought.

Hi very nice work . What is the reason for going for a wooden floor as opposed to a concrete floor. Are you going to insulate the floor

Hi there good question we have always had concrete floors in our other houses were i made hand made kitchens before and it was always hard on the legs and feet standing for long periods also concrete is hard to heat up and needs to be constant to keep warm but and running services is nearly impossible a wooden floor if done right doesn't need heating up and is easier to stand on and just warmer also feeding services through is a breeze hope this helps all the best Budo 🍺🤠👍🏻

Yes he is correct the out side and inside at the same hight from the datum line to the footing as ours is and the black stuff is called bitumen
