Simplest Router Table Circle Jig 

This truly is the best solution. Not the generic clickbait blah blah.

The last blooper with the pine shattering is a good reminder of what wood can do if you are not watchful. Similar situation when working on a jointer. I never put my hands over the cutter head of a jointer. And I have seen a board disintegrate on the end as it passed over. I started working in my father cabinet shop 42 years ago. Bad stuff happens to those who are complacent. I still have all my fingers in all their full length! Thanks to a patient father who taught me well.

For making circles, that's the best jig/idea I've seen thus far. Simple, easy, and stowable. Great idea.

This is GREAT and thank you so much. I made one yesterday! The size of this is so handy as I'm running out of room to store jigs. Like many, I have to share my garage workshop with the car and other household storage. Thanks again for the To The Point instructions and NO music.

LOVE IT !!! Works so easily! ... I just drive whatever drill bit I used into a slider piece and use that as my pin ... Slider pieces take literally 30 seconds to make!

Brilliantly simple gig! Not only does it work very well, but there is nothing to wear out. It should last indefinitely.

Couldn't find my bandsaw jig so just made one today. Cuts true circles and the "tiny amount" adjustment makes it perfect for the job I have at hand. but it's still tricky to creep up to the bearing just before it clicks in. My trim offset was about 2-3 mm. The router bit is in 80% condition and I was routing 18mm birchply so maybe I need a fresh bit. I might make an additional linear guide from sides and some brace above to avoid kickbacks...let's see

Instead of cutting a slot to the bearing size,you could cut a " V " and be able to use different size cutters.Great video as always. Thank you.

Nice simple jig! For your dirty router bits .... clean them. Remove the bearing, get a new one if doesn't turn freely. Put 1 part laundry soap and 3 parts hot water in a container. Leave it soak for about 30 minutes. Rinse it off using an old toothbrush or small brass brush. Then put it in a pan of boiling water. After a few minutes, remove the bit and lay it on a shop towel to dry. The water will all evaporate from the hot bit. Reinstall the bearing. Usually, it will cut like new. I clean all my saw blades and router bits this way regularly. Best part ..... no toxic chemicals.

Great idea. I like small jigs that do big things. So much easier than depending on a bulky one on the bandsaw, or the kind where you attach a router. Definitely an idea worth remembering.

Great idea, I was just about to make a sliding circle template based on the miter track on my router table. This is so much more accurate and smart. Also I was Hornberger-starved so this video came at just the right time

Thank you! Great idea and well communicated. I've made a circle jig for all all my cutting tools, except my router. I've been using a Jasper jig, which works well, but is a tad difficult when cutting an exact size (combo of jig and bits can get a bit tedious). Whatever your life goals are, I predict a bright future ahead of you.

Very nice! I was thinking of putting holes in my table, for common diameters, but that would require a hole through the work piece. A pin slider in your table might also work...

Nice. I saw a bandsaw circle-cutting jig on the Swallow Forge channel that'd probably work better for larger pieces. This looks more convenient for smaller circles, though, as it's more compact.

For smal cirkels it looks like a great design and the Double function as an beam compas looks great a while back I made a cirkel jig wich is basecly the same design but just larger and instead the hole fore the bearing I had the router mounted

Great Video! You could add a detachable handheld router mounting plate to the other end for partial depth and oversize sheet solutions that don't fit on the router table.

Its a great jig! I'd also mark the jig with measurement marks to make setting up distances even faster.

Very nice jig, i could see this work with a handheld router as well. Just a little wider board, or an add on piece so the base is a little more stable. With a flush cut bit with a bearing on the other side. Then u could do inside circles as well, as long as you leave some tabs and don’t go all the way through.

Good idea another. Advantage is the lightweight and low cost of the trim router and 1/4" router bits !

Tolle Vorrichtung, vor allem schön klein. In der Metalltechnik ist es wichtig, ob man Gleich- oder Gegenlauf fräst. Da bekommt man mit Gleichlauf meist die bessere Oberfläche hin. Wie sieht es in der Holztechnik aus? Gefühlt würde ich die Vorrichtung nur Gegenläufig benutzen für höhere Sicherheit.

At first I thought that some provision was needed to keep the jig perpendicular to the fence as a reference in order to guarantee a uniform diameter. However it seems that this is unnecessary as the jig pivots off the roller bearing. Is this correct? Thank you your presentation is great.
