Simplicity Wonder - Riccar Prima VS Miele C2 C3 Canister Vacuum Review

Surprised you didn't mention how poor the finish on the Tacony product was in comparison to the Miele. And the Miele blows the Prima (Wonder?) out of the water in the styling department. I just sold a Prima and as a 2 year user, I can say that tool storage was pretty bad. The tools were difficult to secure to the vacuum and if they weren't secure, they would pop off. Once my crevice tool wound up in the toilet. Overall, the Prima cleaned well enough, but it was clunky and felt cheap. And also agree that the wheels make the machine difficult to move. There's a lot of complaining that the Miele casters are too small, but I don't find them a problem. And yes, the Miele tools are small, but at least they stay neatly on the vacuum and out of site.

I'm really shocked I was just on Riccar's website and these are still available for purchase... for some reason I thought they were discontinued a while back.

The miele is prettier but that does not matter to me. I have had 3 miele canisters and decided never to buy one again. The wheels are too small in diameter - as a result it will not roll over its own cord but instead the vacuum drags the cord under it. This is a major pain when trying to vacuum. Dog hair gets wrapped around the axels of the wheels, they then stop rolling, and you have to take the wheel off to clean it out. Another pain. All the canisters that I have flip over if you decide to make a 90 degree turn. They are not well balanced. That was not the case with the older models that had a swivel mechanism where the hose attached to the body. Finally, the parts you use most to attach things have poorly designed plastic fittings that break. The hose retention clips on my $500 upright miele have all broken off from plastic fatigue. The foot release on two of my three canisters broke, but they were not much use since they would always get stuck and required me to bend over to remove the motor head. With the last one I paid $1200 for I had an electrical fire in the motor head that burned up the wiring in the head and in the tubular wand - $500 for new parts! I appreciated the review of the Riccar. Perhaps I will look at the Sebo as a replacement for my Miele.

I got a simplicity wonder on a great close out deal. It was less than half what the meile was. But I had a meile upright. The piece on the wand broke within a year. The body release pedal kinda broke but I was able to to fix it myself when it would go down to far. I bought a sanitaire and love it. I always had an old Kirby, it is excellent as well. The meile was a bit of a let down. I believe the meile canister is superior. But I will not pay 1000-1500 bucks for a canister. The simplicity wonder does a decent job if you can get it with electric power head, for under 500. All of these machines are over frickin priced. I would prefer a 10 year Panasonic/ Kenmore for 350 any day over all of these machines. Sears is no more.🙄🤷🏼‍♂️. Riccar needs to lower the price on these canisters. Then they would out sale the competition

He references an earlier video with the conclusion that the tandem air was “not ready for market.” Do you host that video or know where I could see it? I didn’t have luck searching and want to get more opinions before purchasing (it’s pretty much a dead heat between the prima or a Miele).

Thanks for the great info. What or how would you do a particle test on a Sebo Felix? I have one and love it but did always want to know if what they say that they are a clean air vacuum.

I have the C2 compact electro +. The plastic release of the lower wand release cracks easily. The detent on the stainless steel extension will not lock in properly, and will slide in when pushed on low pile rug. There are dust leaks at the inside gap where the flip lid contacts the hose lip. I have replaced the dust brush attachment twice within 1 year of use, the swivel nozzle wears out too quickly. No, I would not recommend using this vac to pickup saw dust, I've tried it with MDF dust, it "cakes" the collection bag, much like plastic clinging to the inside of the bag.

Has anyone had issues with C3 Brilliant controls on the handle and do you own this one and C3 Marin

Simplicity and all the Riccars are nothing but trouble and over over priced especially the Radiance and Brilliance , no worth the money
