This is a perfect example of contrast & compare. By any standard Brian is a very good singer. But Freddie just does things no one else can/could do. Range, power, versatility, subtlety, etc.. A true one of a kind master of his instrument.
Sorry for your loss, Lynn. I know how hard it is; I lost my dog Jasper Thanksgiving night. It leaves a space that can't be filled. I really enjoyed this reaction, Dave. Queen does love a spectacle..."if it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing". Their music is so grand at times and we love it!
So sorry for the loss of your dog. I lost my dog 2 years ago, and it still hurts. They are "family", and so so hard to accept the loss. I'll never get over losing my dog.
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. They are our fur children. I have lost several dogs and cats over the years and I've loved them as much as my 4 children because they were my other children. I hole that you will find peace over time so you can remember every sweet moment you had with him.
This is why doing the studio versions is a must, because there are harmonies and nuances that just can't be replicated in live performances. Thanks David, stay safe.
Next please,I want your opinion: Laps of the gods, seven seas of Rhye and Tear it up ,all together in Wembley 86' ,I think it's one of the best moments of Queen and congratulations for your great work!
John Deacon on the white double bass. They asked him if he could play the double bass, the next day he brought one in and played it for them. Awesome musician.
A true story. On the day Freddie died, I was listening to night owls on the radio with Alan Robson. It was just before the musical break half way through in which they play a song. It had just been announced that Freddie had passed. Alan explained that the studio didn't have a library of music so they had to take the track in to play, they wanted to play this track for a while but had a few requests before hand and it was the only night they could play it....the track was 'Who wants to live forever'
An emotional song & comfort to a lot of people who have lost loved ones. With 1 week to go can you react to Queens Thank God Its Christmas and also if possible Tyler Warren's stripped back acoustic version from last year. Tyler played Roger in tribute band Queen Extravaganza but is now in Queen itself supporting Rogers drumming & vocals. I think you will like his style.
Another fabulous reaction! Thank you David, with anyone else I would get really pi**ed off with the interruptions but your passion & sheer joy make me love all the “Jack it backs!” More Queen pls, anything as long as it’s Queen! Condolences to the lady who lost her much loved pet, I know the heartache of this! ❤️
Thanks, Robert. He was a special guy I rescued from living in a 10x10 pen for years. He had his own sofa & was an inside dog the last 4 years of his life. Big coonhound/lab mix but a gentle giant. ❤️🤗🐾🐾
Great, and what about Deaky on double bass? This video is breathtaking. The song was writen by Brian for Higlander movie. Another , which I love, are The Princess Of The Universe written by Freddie and One Year Of Love written by Deaky
Thank you for confirming that it is Deaky on the double bass! The film doesn't linger on him for long enough, but I thought it was him. They are all so multi-talented.
Did anyone notice Deaky playing the double bass in this one, Brian jokingly said John you should play the double bass in this, John went off and learned to play the instrument, they couldn't believe it when he turned up in the studio with it, now that's true professionalism...
This is actually part of the soundtrack to the film "Highlander" - Queen wrote it all. I recommend it!--Brian wrote it in his car after having seen a short cut of the movie and heard about the "story" - about being immortal - and watching his love grow old and die - while being immortal himself - .
at the time of the opera stuff with montserrat caballé he‘s already been to weak to sing those songs at their live-performances. i think i remember she‘s stated that in an interview.
So sorry Lynn I know it's hard to make that decision he will always be in your heart I had to do it with my cat he was my baby during the second lockdown it's heart breaking and was even worse because I couldn't stay with him or even say good bye to him because the vet took him in and I had wait outside in the car with my friend
IMO this is Queens BEST EVER SONG only 2nd by Mother Love - Brian wrote a stonking classic and both he and Freddie nail it - John on the double bass and Roger killing the drums, this is the only song by Queen which, will make a grown man cry.
I'm so confused, this song ended before its real end...? You may want to revisit it, it doesn't fade out, the ending is one of the best parts and for some reason it's not happening here...? Great reaction, mate, you're awesome!
Freddie was already sick by the time he did opera with Montserrat Caballe, which is the main reason he couldn’t perform at that level live anymore (he’d also stopped touring, as he no longer had the stamina). Imagine if he were at full health and could have done it live. We missed out on so much. 😢
You like the moomins as I do - with family connections to Finland (I'm from Denmark)?? Did you see John in red jacket with the white double bass playing with a bow? His hair is odd as well. So now you have reacted to it live - and the studioversion - - now you must see the movie Highlander - Brian wrote it in 10 minutes on his way back from seeing a clip form the film .
he couldn‘t sing it live because at this point he was already very sick with aids. but there are sessions with the opera singer and freddie on youtube. also there are demos with him singing the opera parts to show the opera singer how he thought she should sing it. the opera singer was montserrat caballé and the songs are barcelona, how can i go on, and a few more i think. another great classical song with only freddie is „excercises in free love“. as there were no protools or autotune back then and till the end of his life you can always hear freddies real voice in any of his recordings.
Live, or lip syncing, you really, really have to check out Freddie singing opera duets with Spanish opera singer Monsterrat Cabballet. Barcelona How can I go on The Golden boy All of these are amazing
People will eat me... But I recommend you to react to Queen + Adam Lambert - Who wants to live forever (live at the isle of wight festival 2016). I love Freddie so much! But Adam's version blow me away. 🙏
