Ahhhhh!! Holy schmokes -- I'm so freaking excited that you reacted to this song! I freaking love it! I know nobody cares but despite having a chill mood, it's superbly rhythmic with Latin percussion in the form of Samba and African drums -- Amazing!
Great Reaction ,The album "Stars" is a great album. And yes, reacting to the title track "Stars" is a good idea. Also "For Your Babies" is wonderful, from The Stars album
@@infinitesam5880 Ah yes, you are right. I bought the album Stars, and around then, i think , Fairground was also released on the Live album. But hasn't Mick always had a wonderful voice .
Simply Red was the TIGHTEST band of the 80's-90's. Top class musicians all of them.U might want to try these : Come to my Aid (1985) The Right Think (1986) It's Only Love (1988) If you don't Know me by Now and A New Flame (1989) Something got me Started and Stars (1991) Remembering the First Time (1995)
Hi India!!! Love your videos!!! I'm a big Simply Red fan since the beginning, try the songs "Stars", "For Your Babies", "A New Flame", and the incredible covers they did of "Heaven" (from Talking Heads) and "If You Don't Know Me By Now", you will not regret it...
I have had the joy to see this guy performing live. First in the 80‘s and later in 2012. He became older of course, but his voice and his charisma is still the same. Absolutely fantastic. If you ever will have the opportunity to visit a concert you will see what I am talking about. Please react to one of my favorite songs: something‘s got me started
They - or he - has always had the ability to do songs that are both lush and driving, making you both feel good and dance. This song samples on a song called "Give It Up" by Dutch band Goodmen and the composers are credited. "And I love the thought of coming home to you, even if I know we can make it". Everything is alright both with him and the loved one, I would guess.
Simply Red did quite well in the US til the early 90's but had much more success here in the UK. This was no1 for 4 weeks in the UK and remember the song and music video when it came out 26 yrs ago. Nice to hear an American that likes the band.
Been watching a few of your reaction videos and u are great. Also class that u have reacted to fairground by simply red, u should check out ‘stars’ next and also maybe ‘come to my aid’ as well, they are also great songs
At the time of it opening in the mid 90s it was called The Big One, at that time it was sponsored by PepsiCo, and so was called the Pepsi Max Big One. I recall the sponsor changing to Irn Bru in the noughties, which is probably what it was in 2004 lol.
This was Simply Red's only UK number 1 and it came towards the end of their super popularity. I love this tune (nostalgia plays a part) but in a way its sad they felt they needed to put the generic 90s dance beat on it that was everywhere around that time. As others have said, 'Stars' is a mainstay of their's and was probably the peak of their success

THE ROLLER COASTER in the video is in BLACKPOOL my auntie had a guest house there and every year for the school holidays we were sent to help out in the guest house . I was there when the coaster opened and at the time it was the highest and fastest in Europe I think lol , there were a few hiccups in the first few months of opening , I can honestly say that walking down the steps with a safety line from the first big drop, is an experience I will never forget I was 13 lol .
This was the only album that I listened to, which has alot of rhythm that I like. You should listen to the other songs in the album "So Many People", "Lives and Loves", "Never Never Love"..the transition from these tracks to me, were awesome...the beat, rhythm, and the lyrics... I know how that Fairground part that got you surprised with the chorus part right....lol. The lyrics...listen to them...
All filmed in Blackpool a town in North West England. The roller coaster used is the tallest in the UK and once held the record as tallest in the world back in the mid 90s
I think the monotone-ish singing is being away from their partner and as soon as they're coming home it feels like they're on a fairground ride, the ups and the downs. Hence the music intensifying on the ride, loving the thought of coming home to you'- the excitement of being with the person.
It was at number one in the charts in the UK for so long I learned to hate this song. But it was nice to hear it again after so long. You should check out stars by simply red too
The percussion track was sampled off a dance track, Goodmen’s “Give it up”, which was I think sampled off a 70s dance disco tune (I might be wrong about the second sample) but definitely check out Goodmen’s Give It Up
Did you realise what that looks like on the bottom shelf behind you 😀 Simply Red awesome band met him once in the hacienda and saw them live Twice, sound as good live as they do on recordings.
India so love your reactions to what the songs mean. The words and what they mean to the songs music that you listen to.You are beautiful inside and out and you speak from your heart.Thank you.
