I LOVE how much personality they put into the characters of this DS game of all things. The Sims team used to be great at making their characters feel alive but the pre-made Sims in The Sims 4 are so boring :( I know it's not the point of the games but it's like they don't even bother anymore. It was a part of the series' charm.
especially because, at least from what I can tell, Sims 4 is also heavily populated with randomly generated sims that just walk around for a bit and then cease to exist. Even Sims 3 didn't lean too heavily into the really distinct characters but they had a fixed town populated by hand made people which went a long way to establish the town and make it feel special, also helped by its open world. Sims 3 is the one I mainly grew up with and I still distincly remember so many of the townspeople, but 4 just doesn't have that.
@@littlechickeyhudak I agree but also I understand on a certain level why they may have gone that route for 4, considering it was probably to improve the loading time and framerate problems 3 majorly suffered from. I'm sure they scaled back the size of the town for that reason, since the Sims 3 just went hogwild and loaded the entire town at once which is why it was so slow and heavily demanding in CPU (it literally took like 15 whole minutes to load the game on my family's decent computer). The Sims 1 and I think 2 (I haven't played 2) only loaded one lot at a time, so Sims 4 seems to compromise at loading a section of the map. However, since they load only 2 or 3 lots at a time, and notably cut back on the size of the town in general, it would probably leave the world feeling pretty desolate if there was only premade townies roaming around, so I think it was a good decision overall to have the random townie generation if they wanted to maintain the lower hardware demanding compared to 3. I do wish they made the premade Sims more interesting though. I think it was not beneficial that initially they didn't even have the memories feature that both 2 and 3 had that let you learn more about the premade Sims if you were curious enough to check their memories. Iirc they only added that feature to the Sims 4 fairly recently, which is just strange to me considering how it's been a core part of the charm since 2. Sims 4 would easily be the best Sims game if they just focused a little more on what made the earlier games charming and didn't lock important gameplay features behind ridiculous amounts of paywalls.
the sims franchise itself lost a lot of personality to me. you can tell the amount of love put into the first 3 games and their spin offs, but the sims 4 just feels absolutely bland
noticed someone in chat ask why johnny is green. sometimes i forget sims 2 lore isn't something everyone knows and i, am in fact, prone to hyperfixating on weird things. anyway johnny is green because he's a half alien. his family tree is fucked up because his mom is half siblings with *his* cousin. his dad is a former pollination technician (the aliens in sims 2) who impregnated his grandfather on his moms side before *his* mom was born from a different mother to the same (grand)father. that was confusing to type. ok pollination technician had kids with grandpa, grandpa went on to have kids with his wife. pollination technician then married grandpa's daughter he had with his wife. the caveat of this is that pollination technicians can only impregnate men, and do so through abduction. pollination technician and grandpa never dated.
Shout out to SKELEBF in chat, who, at 3:19:16, says “im a goth and we are all vampires or those feratus” I’m also a goth, and I agree - vividgoth in chat
At 3:51:30 It sounds like someone is angry and breaking stuff. Whenever you hear that sound, you always have to investigate before they do real damage or burn their rooms
In terms of sanity running out, there are two things that happen based on how it happens. If you collapse from natural causes (poor hygiene, lack of food, the desert, fire etc) the 'Grim Cowboy' turns you into sand and returns you to your room. He seems to be some kind of benevolent desert spirit. If the reason you collapse is due to something that would make you visible insane (eg not sleeping, come to think of it i feel like poor hygiene should have been in this category) then you are jailed and pay a §200 bail fee. If you don't have the money, Miss Hogg shows up and helps out instead.
Yeah the real reason Penelope Redd is not saying your an accomplice is because she's been investigating Frankie for a while and always suspected him so she knows he'll deceive people and get them involved when they don't even know what their doing and its the same thing for the other criminals. Penelope's smart and good at her job biding her time waiting for the other shoe to drop in order to catch Frankie in the act....
Personally I Loved this ds game because it was so different cause it was unique and had a beginning middle and end a story with end credits which I never expected Sims to be back then. It was always real life which I loved to play those games until I got bored so every now and then I always one that was different. I have Sims 3 ds which is the same life style game as pc except it doesn't have everything so its like a mini version which is very different from all the other spinoff games which aren't grounded in reality. To me the ds games were fun because they were different and it was a sims story.
As a kid I didnt know that it was not sims 2 and it was a story based game cause I had to buy this game again because it was stolen from me in high school only the cartridge though I kept my case for years and when ds games were harder to purchase when I had my own money. I just had to buy the cartridge for 7.00 but yet the entire collection was expensive. I'm so glad I kept the case all these years and now I have a complete edition.
One of my fave Sims ds games was Sims 2 Castaway. I loved that my character was lost on a island trying to figure out a way to get rescued and I absolutely loved meeting the other people on the island and doing all those quests for them. That was a really Fun game. Another great unique Sims game is actually on the pc is Sims Medieval Times. Its like Life but in the Medieval Times and finding treasure chests like all video games and there's the Sims into the Future which is the opposite its futuristic , Sims Supernatural and Sims Grenerations is about your whole life starting off as a baby growing up showing your lineage background and becoming an adult raising your own family but its story based too. Thats interesting cause like the other Sims games but you get to go through your life and have a story so it has a little bit of a twist....
Your supposed to use the other stuff not just the toilet that doesn't always work and you can't stand before your character gets sleep or it doesn't work which is why your character is always tired cause you didn't use the sleep feature correctly. You have to sleep and let him get his rest and he will wake up on his own and use a refrigerator and the shower. Sometimes the shower refills your sanity
at 3:57:18 that flat wall in your room nest to where the fridge goes is reserved for the License plates. Those are at different places at different times and I followed a walkthrough for that. I time traveled to get those and all the points....
Misty Waters wants to throw Arya off the roof for no reason she needs some anger management classes. Alot of the guest need it this game is so funny hahahaha
Alot of people love Hawaii because its the most beautiful state and it was always my dream to go there. Its islands are hot and Alaska is cold. Lost was filmed in Hawaii our most popular TV show in the smallest island of Oahu for the beach scenes and the flashback scenes and forest scenes were filmed in Kaui where my parents were. Its my dream to visit that beautiful state, swim in their clean blue water and swim and play with the dolphins and there was a hurricane or tsunami or something that wiped a bunch of chickens on the shore of the island several years ago and they multiplied so now the chickens just casually walk into the restaurants and there's geckos climbing on the walls my parents saw them. That would be so cool to see.... I want to go to Kaui...
California and New York are the most popular states in America. Everyone should know those ones. They have the biggest population next to Texas and there also the states where most of the rich and famous live. Justin Bieber was born and raised in Canada before coming to the US....
